When Rebecca Ferguson revealed earlier this year that she had to stand up to an “idiot” co-star after they belittled her in front of the cast and crew – ultimately telling this unknown star to “f off” – a frenzy began in trying to figure out who the mystery was. Sadly, her overall point was missed by many in the process.
As Rebecca Ferguson told Jess Cagle (via The Hollywood Reporter), “The point of the interview wasn’t about finding the person — of course, people will be interested. But I was excited about the question, which was a very good question…Because the point was: Is there a point in your career where you were treated in a way where you changed your decision on — this is how I formulated it in myself — where you want change, or you will not accept it? And it was such a clear moment for me working with this person.

Just a year before Matthew Perry was found dead, the Friends star was the subject of an hour-long sit-down interview with Diane Sawyer about his memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.
In the special and in other media appearances to promote his book, Perry spoke about his past struggles with addiction but indicated he was doing well and seemed optimistic about his future.
In a separate interview with The New York Times, Perry said he had been sober for 18 months and had “probably spent $9 million or something trying to get sober” after dealing with addictions to alcohol and opioids.
In the book and the promotion thereof, Perry recalled how at the height of his addiction, during his later years on Friends, he was taking 55 Vicodin pills a day. And he recalled going to open houses to steal pills out of strangers’ medicine cabinets.

Jada Pinkett Smith is “grateful” for the Oscars slap, the actor and talkshow host told Jess Cagle on Sirius Xm’s “The Jess Cagle Show.”
“I’m grateful for it all,” Smith said, emphasizing that she’s a “real believer” that everything happens for a reason and that it’s all about one’s mindset. “So, when painful situations occur, I always know that there’s an opportunity for a big blessing. And so, in that particular circumstance, I really focused on the blessings. I really focused on what is being asked of me, from that space of love and connection, what is being asked of me.”
When Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards, Smith knew her husband was going to enter the “dark night of the soul that he hadn’t entered before” as the public turned against him. She also knew she would be challenged to stand by him.

Hugh Jackman has starred in a variety of movies since his breakthrough role in X-Men. Out of all of his movies, however, there was one he confided the studio saw as a big risk.

Jackman showcased his talent for music in the 2017 movie The Greatest Showman. The film was a bit of a passion project for the actor, and was based on the life of showman P.T. Barnum. Speaking to Today, Jackman shared that he got the idea to do the film after hosting the Academy Awards one night.
“The producer said, ‘You’ve done movies for Wolverine. You’ve done musicals on Broadway and the West End. You should put the two together,” Jackman said.
But right from the beginning, the Oscar-nominated actor knew it would be difficult for the feature to make it to the big screen.

“Barbie” star Ryan Gosling doubted his “Kenergy” for the Greta Gerwig film, but now he has become one with his character.
“I did doubt my Kenergy in the beginning. Harrison Ford gave a tempered response when asked about advancements in filmmaking technology like CGI and artificial intelligence. When asked by CNN host Chris Wallace about the many changes going on in the entertainment industry, Ford said his answer depends on the utility of the technology.
“As your work goes from movies to streaming, and we face a world of artificial intelligence, who embraces change, or kind of holds it at a distance?” Wallace asked Ford on an episode of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” that aired on Max Friday.
“When it’s helpful, I’m happy to have it, and when it’s not, I’m disappointed that we’ve chosen to use it,” Ford said.
“I think it’s not a question of the technology, it’s how you use it,” he continued. “I mean, we have the capacity to generate more enemies than anyone would ever face before.

Harrison Ford told CNN’s Chris Wallace that he wanted a solid ending for Indiana Jones, and he feels that “Dial of Destiny” provides that.
“Six years ago, I thought maybe we ought to take a shot at making another one. And I wanted it to be about age because I think that rounds out the story that we’ve told and we brought it to the right place,” Ford said, in video you can watch above. “I mean, the last one ended in kind of a suspended animation. There was not a real strong feeling of the conclusion or the closure that I always hoped for.”
At 80 years old, Ford reprised the role of the daring explorer that he started portraying at 38 years old in “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981).

Harrison Ford is happy with how the de-aging technology worked in his latest “Indiana Jones” film.
The 80-year-old actor, director James Mangold and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” costars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Boyd Holbrook sat with SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle in an interview posted Tuesday in which they were asked about the de-aged sequence towards the start of the film.
“Well it was fun for me to see how well it worked because I feel very strongly that it’s the best example of de-aging, if you will, that we’ve seen yet,” Ford told the SiriusXM host. “It’s not a photoshopping kind of thing, it really is my face from 40 years ago.”
The actor added that he was “gratified that it worked” because it was an impactful narrative device for his fifth and final outing as Indiana Jones.

When Hugh Jackman announced his return to the role of Wolverine for “Deadpool 3,” it came as a surprise to fans after the 2017 film “Logan” was aggressively marketed as Jackman’s final performance as the Marvel superhero. But while some might have worried that it would cheapen the conclusive ending of the James Mangold film, Jackman ensured that his most iconic role’s finale would remain intact.
“It’s all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines,” Jackman said in a recent interview with Jess Cagle and Julia Cunningham for their SiriusXM radio show (via Variety). “Now we can go back because, you know, it’s science. So, I don’t have to screw with the ‘Logan’ timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably to the fans too.”

While appearing on Monday’s episode of Sirius Xm’s “The Jess Cagle Show”, the “Free Guy” actor explained that his three daughters — Betty, 3, Inez, 6, and James, who turns eight next month — never fully understood that Swift’s talented singing was more than just a “hobby.”

“And then they went to a concert one day and were like, ‘Ohhhhh, this isn’t a hobby’,” he continued.

Ryan Reynolds confirmed that Taylor Swift was not going to be part of Deadpool 3 but he was game for making it happen.
The rumor about Swift came after Reynolds posted a video with Hugh Jackman announcing that Wolverine was going to make an appearance in the third installment of the superhero film. Swift is known to drop nuggets that hint at future projects and the video where Reynolds and Jackman appeared was filmed in the same house Swift’s All Too Well: The Short Film was shot.
“If we shoot the next Deadpool film in our house, then that would be that location,” Reynolds told Entertainment Tonight about the fan theory.
Although that was not a hint of Swift joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Reynolds said that he would like her to appear in the upcoming movie adding, “Are you kidding me? I would do anything for that woman.

As an actor, director and producer, George Clooney knows the business of filmmaking – and he knows the risk that Universal Pictures is making by putting his new romantic comedy with Julia Roberts, “Ticket to Paradise,” in theaters. For taking that risk, he applauds them.
“The studios aren’t making these mid-range films very much,” Clooney said in an interview Thursday morning, sitting with Jess Cagle for SiriusXM. “The gamble is too hard, because honestly, with the print and ad campaign, if you do a 50 million film, you gotta recoup about 175 million to break even. "We never really talked much about our marriage," Elizabeth—who was joined by Robbie during the interview—said when asked if they wed during Covid lockdown. "We eloped, and then we had a wedding at another time, but it was before Covid. I just never talked about it. " As Elizabeth, 33, explained, timing was in the couple's favor. "I had to work in England and there are visa issues with that," she told co-hosts Jess Cagle...

Uma Thurman has some unfinished business.
The 51-year-old Pulp Fiction actress was asked about the possibility of a Kill Bill 3 being made during an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show.
The third installment of the Quentin Tarantino sword and revenge saga has long been rumored since the release of the 2003 Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and 2004′s Kill Bill: Volume 2.
Thurman admitted the project has been discussed, going so far as to say, “There was real thought about it happening.” However, sadly, those discussions apparently ended long ago.
“I don’t see it as immediately on the horizon.” She added, “I hate to disappoint people. Everybody wishes it would be the case, but I think it’s not immediately on the horizon.”
Last fall, the saga’s director and writer, Quentin Tarantino, didn’t outright dismiss the notion of a third film. “Why not?” Tarantino said at the Rome Film Festival,...

Outside of his role on “The Deuce,” James Franco has largely been absent from mainstream films and TV projects over the past few years. This, of course, is a result of the sexual misconduct allegations against him during his time as an acting teacher years ago. But now, after a long time out of the spotlight, Franco has decided to begin his comeback tour.
In the interview with Jess Cagle on SiriusXM (see below), James Franco addressed the sexual misconduct allegations against him.

James Franco has admitted to using his fame “as a lure,” sleeping with students at his defunct acting school Studio 4 and being “completely blind” to both “power dynamics” and “people’s feelings” in his first in-depth interview on the sexual misconduct allegations against him, which surfaced in 2018.
Franco’s comments came in an installment of SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show unveiled Wednesday, which saw him explain his behavior as an extension of the addiction he’d struggled with since he was a teenager. While he managed to get his addiction to alcohol under control at age 17, he said he would later “fill that hole” that still existed within him through other means, also putting his addictive tendencies toward his work.

Do you find yourself lusting more over Joe Goldberg than Dan Humphrey? Well, You and Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley is setting the record straight on why that may be the case, and it's sadly so cliché! In an interview with SiriusXM's Jess Cagle on Tuesday, Badgley explained that his Gossip Girl character became "increasingly irrelevant" to fans of the teen drama because they preferred to root for morally corrupt characters like Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) over "the nice guy." Meanwhile, on You, Joe is an obvious bad guy, and television fans are "much more accustomed to watching a show about a murder and being like, 'Woo, I love that guy'" these days. *Sigh* The bad-boy trope wins every time. Watch Badgley's full interview ahead of the Oct. 15 premiere of season three of You.

Never mind the fact that Netflix original films traffic quite heavily in well-worn tropes — the streaming service has launched the first trailer for a new comedy special called “Attack of the Hollywood Clichés!” that finds celebrities discussing, dissecting, and having fun with familiar plot beats in your favorite movies. Hosted by Rob Lowe, the one-off special features a wide range of celebrities weighing in on everything from the Meet-Cute to the Ticking Time Bomb to the Jump Scare, using iconic films like “Forrest Gump” and “Out of the Past” as examples.
“Stock characters, familiar story beats, and convenient plot devices have crept in over time,” Lowe says in the trailer. “Tonight, we celebrate the clichés that have made cinema what it is today,” Lowe adds, as Netflix is pegging the special as something between a comedy special and a celebration of cinema history. It’s not quite the full-on roasting...

As F9's Ludacris tells SiriusXM's Jess Cagle and Julia Cunningham, the actor's daughter, as well as his brother Cody, were "constantly" on set to help the cast make sure "his legacy can be incorporated." Fans of the Fast and Furious films will remember that Paul's character Brian O'Conner lives on in the movies, although he isn't involved in the group's dealings. Before WarnerMedia’s decision last week to move Warner Bros’ entire 2021 feature film slate to HBO Max along with their theatrical releases, the company made the same move with its DC tentpole Wonder Woman 1984. The sequel to the 2017 hit will still premiere in cinemas on December 25, but now also at home via streaming.
Director Patty Jenkins discussed the decision for her movie Tuesday during an interview with Jess Cagle on the SiriusXM Stars channel that will air in its entirety next week. In a nutshell: she says there was “no good option.”

Over five years after it first took the world by storm, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton hit Disney Plus earlier this month, giving everyone – well, those with a subscription – the chance to relive the epic tale of Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.
With Lin-Manuel’s beloved Tony award-winning musical now available for a pretty wide audience, it’s found itself becoming quite a hot topic once more, sparking much conversation and debate. Not all of it has been good, mind you, as some are taking issue with its portrayal of slavery. But for the most part, the talk surrounding Hamilton has been pretty positive.
One thing in particular that seems to come up a lot though is the meaning behind Eliza’s gasp at the very end and what exactly it signifies and represents. The debate still rages on, but while visiting SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle show this week,...

Bob Greenblatt, WarnerMedia’s entertainment and direct-to-consumer chairman, called the decision to temporarily pull Gone With the Wind “a no-brainer” but said it will be restored because “we can’t censor these films.”
The executive made the comments Thursday in an interview on Sirius Xm with Jess Cagle, the former editor of People and Entertainment Weekly. (Listen to an excerpt above.)
“I don’t regret taking it down for a second,” Greenblatt said. “I only wish we had put it up in the first place with the disclaimer. And we just didn’t do that.”
Had the film been airing on a linear network, as it often has on WarnerMedia’s Turner Classic Movies, it wouldn’t need a disclaimer because “because they’re often talking about these issues,” Greenblatt said. When the film returns to the streaming service, he added, it will have a disclaimer attached to the feature.

Before introducing Bette Midler‘s performance of the Oscar-nominated song “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from Mary Poppins Returns, Key, 47, flew from the orchestra pit to the ceiling of the Dolby Theater just like the magical nanny herself.
The actor spun a few times as he floated down and held a black umbrella. He landed in the middle of the aisle, where he fumbled with the umbrella for a bit before introducing Midler’s performance.

Anne Hathaway is being a good sport about her widely criticized 2011 Oscars hosting gig.
Ahead of Sunday’s 91st Academy Awards ceremony, the actress 36, posted a throwback photo from the night to Instagram. Hathaway co-hosted the 83rd Academy Awards alongside James Franco.
The pair was panned for their performance, with critics saying Hathaway, 36, had gone overboard while Franco, 40, lacked energy.
