The only constant in life is change, folks. The best-laid plans end up having to be adjusted, external factors force even the wisest decision-makers to improvise on the fly, and, all the while, the ruthless film gods laugh at us from their ivory towers in the sky. Is this lede a tad melodramatic for what's nothing more than just another article about movie release dates jumping around? Probably, but we have to make sure you're all paying attention somehow!

Freddy Fazbear will return to haunt multiplexes in 2025.
Universal and Blumhouse’s “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2,” a horror sequel set in the haunted Chuck E. Cheese-esque establishment known as Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, will land in theaters on Dec. 5, 2025.
Universal added several Blumhouse titles to its release calendar, including “The Woman in the Yard” and “Drop”. The studio also shifted the dates for two other buzzy sequels: “M3GAN 2.0” from May 16, 2025, to June 27, 2025; and “The Black Phone 2” from June 27, 2025, to Oct. 17, 2025.

Josh Hutcherson starred in the original as a nighttime security guard at Freddys Fazbear’s Pizza, where the animatronic mascots are prone to murder. Updated May 24 at 7:31 a.m. Pt with “Code Black” canceled by CBS.
Is “Ghosted” coming back?
That’s a question on viewers’ minds as upfronts week comes to a close, with Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS and The CW all having announced their fall programming schedules as of Thursday. ‘Cause some of those slates have holes in them, meaning the statuses of almost half a dozen shows on broadcast television are still up in the air.
Look, we can accept the fact that not every series will be saved like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” — not every show should be. But come on, networks — minus ABC and The CW, who have already killed or renewed everything they’re going to — fans need to hear one way or another whether their favorite programs will be returning this fall, especially for ones that have a crazy-devoted fanbase.

Looks like “La to Vegas” won’t be taking off on Fox’s fall 2018-19 slate after all. The network has officially canceled the Dylan McDermott-led series after just one season.
An individual with knowledge of the decision tells TheWrap that, while the network was “proud of the show,” with the addition of “Thursday Night Football,” as well as new comedies on Fridays and Sundays, and the large amount of returning shows next season, Fox’s schedule couldn’t accommodate a second season of the Will Ferrell and Adam McKay-produced comedy.
Along with McDermott, the cast of “La to Vegas” includes Kim Matula, Ed Weeks, Nathan Lee Graham, Olivia Macklin and Peter Stormare.

While nothing is official, we hear the La to Vegas TV show is inching closer to a second season on Fox. The network hasn't made an announcement, but a source indicates some initial steps in season two pre-production have already been taken, in advance of kicking off production over the summer. Earlier this week, we reported creator Lon Zimmet and Steve Levitan were already working on a way to "make some noise" and land a season two renewal. Perhaps they have done just that. A Fox workplace comedy, La to Vegas stars Dylan McDermott, Kim Matula, Ed Weeks, Nathan Lee Graham, Olivia Macklin, Peter Stormare, and Amir Talai. The sitcom centers on a weekly Jackpot Airlines roundtrip flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. The first season kicked off in January with decent numbers and scored a bigger episode order a week later, but...

Fox has not yet decided whether its La to Vegas TV show should be cancelled or renewed for season two. Because no final decision has been made on the status, creator Lon Zimmet and his fellow executive producer Steve Levitan are hard at work on ideas for a second season and are reportedly determined to "make some noise," if they do make a second season. Yup, it’s definitely happening: Captain Dave (Dylan McDermott) is actually going to propose to Patricia (Amy Landecker) in the Season 1 finale of “La to Vegas.”
Well, if he can get his hands on an engagement ring, that is.
In a clip from Tuesday’s first season closer, which is exclusive to TheWrap, the eccentric Jackpot Airlines pilot is out one rock and looking for another so that he can pop the question to Nichole’s (Olivia Macklin) mother. Problem is, he’s got no money. (Classic, Dave.)

He proposed the idea of the proposal to Colin (Ed Weeks) and Artem (Peter Stormare) at the end of last week’s episode, and they were not on board. Mainly because, you know, the Patricia and Dave had just broken up.
But now it seems his friends are willing to help, with Colin even considering selling Dave his ex’s engagement ring that is now available due to the “flaming wreckage” of his failed marriage.
And big spender Dave is willing to write an Iou for any amount to get the family heirloom. Now they just have to get Colin’s ex to hand it over.

Ed Weeks is having a blast with his role on Fox’s new sitcom La to Vegas. The actor spoke to People Chica about his character, who is eerily like him in real life. “I play a British man named Colin. We are pretty similar. Sarcasm masking a deep shyness and insecurity? Check. Maybe a teeny bit pompous? Check,” he jokes. “Oh, and we definitely have similar hair!”
Weeks shares the small screen with Dylan McDermott, Kim Matula, Olivia Macklin, Nathan Lee Graham and Peter Stormare. “Dylan is probably the biggest joker among the cast. He’s full of hilarious pranks and non-sequiturs.

If TV shows are movies now, then give Dylan McDermott an Oscar for “La to Vegas.” Ok, Ok. Maybe that’s a little extreme. Even actual movies can’t win film’s most prestigious honor if they’re funny, so Mr. McDermott will have to settle for a Golden Globe — but it’ll be for film, dammit, since that’s clearly so much more important that television.
Overall, Fox’s new half-hour comedy set in the friendly skies between the City of Angels and the City of Sin shows signs of turbulence. Coming up with a season’s, let alone seasons’ worth of fresh material all set within a small, flying cylinder seems about as difficult as making Jerry Seinfeld’s airplane observations topical again. Mindy Kaling picked a special middle name for her first child Katherine: Swati. Swati is the name of Kaling's mother Dr. Swati Chokalingam, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2012. As E! News previously reported, Kaling heard the news of her mother's passing the same day she was told The Mindy Project was picked up by Fox. [Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Mindy Project” series finale, “It Had to Be You.”]
“The Mindy Project” came to an end on Tuesday with its series finale, and every major character finds love or fulfillment in some form. Everything comes full circle with Dr. Mindy Lahiri (creator and star Mindy Kaling) fleeing from a wedding on a bicycle while wearing a sequined dress. But what a difference six seasons and countless boyfriends make. In the pilot, Mindy’s bike escape is sparked by going on a drunken rant at her ex’s wedding. In the finale, she’s peddling away from her good friend’s wedding into the arms of the man she loves.
Over the course of five years and two networks, Kaling refined her romantic comedy style, which ranged from irreverent and goofy to idealistic and contemplative. It hasn’t always been the most consistent, though, and season-to-season has ranged wildly in tone and execution. This was partially due to the network switch,...

“The Mindy Project” is the type of working title a network assigns a show until a final title has been cleared. It’s supposed to be temporary. But in this case, the name stuck — presaging a pattern of breaking rules and subverting expectations that the show has followed throughout its run.
As it enters its sixth season, “The Mindy Project” title has taken on a new meaning. Heroine Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) has been working on the project that is herself and her romantic notions all along. And now the time has come in the final season for Mindy to finally discover her happy ending, whatever that may be.
