Darius Hickman and Magda Fialek didn’t have much time to rest this week on “So You Think You Can Dance.” After performing in the opening group number they were the first up for the night’s duets. And they got the evening started with a doozy: an action-packed Bollywood routine choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan. The judges unanimously loved the performance, but Fialek will have to hope the viewers appreciate her more this week than they did last week.
Despite a couple of stellar routines in the first week of live shows, Fialek landed in the bottom four when results were announced at the end of the night, even though Hickman was safe. The judges saved Fialek from elimination, sending home Chelsea Hough instead, but will they save her again if she lands near the bottom next week too? Watch Hickman and Fialek’s performance above, and read the judges’ comments about it below.

“So You Think You Can Dance” season 15 held its second live show on Monday night, August 13. Once again the top 10 contestants performed for the judges and for America’s votes, but only 8 came out. There was a double elimination at the end of the night based on America’s vote results from last week’s show. One man and one woman exited the competition, so who were they, and did you agree with America’s picks? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments.

Abby Lee Miller has plenty of thoughts on her dramatic exit from Lifetime's Dance Moms.
Miller quit the show with an angry Instagram post on Monday, and in an exclusive sit-down with Et on Wednesday, she talked about her reasons for leaving the popular reality series, as well as the show's new choreographer -- Dancing With the Stars' Cheryl Burke.
"I think that's great," Miller tells Et's Nischelle Turner about Burke joining the show. "I only met her once at a housewarming party a couple weeks ago. I'm glad that someone who has worked on a network show for as long as she has on Dancing With the Stars is going to see what I've been working with for seven years."

Along with Twitch, Travis, Allison, Lauren and Katherine, one of the names that immediately comes to mind when thinking of So You Think You Can Dance is Alex Wong. Known as Alex Freakin’ Wong to the fans of the show, this incredible dancer is always a highlight when he comes back as an all-star on Sytycd. This season once again he created magic on stage and thrilled the audience, the judges, Nakul and Jaja in the Bollywood number he did on the August 17th Top 10 performance show.

Nakul Dev Mahajan is known as Hollywood’s Bollywood choreographer and has, along with training students in the art of Bollywood dance at his Bollywood dance academies, been making contestants naach to the Hindi film music beat on the popular dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance (Sytycd) since Season 4. With many memorable numbers including his first to ‘Dhoom Taana’ featuring Sytycd super couple Joshua and Katee, the choreographer has, with a folk classic flavor, given audiences a wonderful view into this amazing dance style.
I recently chatted with the choreographer, in two wonderful interviews, about all things bolly-naach including his two numbers on Sytycd so far this season, his special judging appearance on a popular Indian dance reality show and so much more. A beautiful and completely unexpected thing happened on the first So You Think You Can Dance results show of Season 12.

The hugely popular music group One Direction has gone Bollywood, at least for 1 day. On November 23rd, the UK band that features Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson held a special live streaming event titled 1D Day. According to the web site, “1D Day is an exciting opportunity for everyone everywhere to take part in a unique global event, providing an exclusive insight into the lives of One Direction – and the people around them. 1D Day will consist of a seven hour stream, filmed live from a television studio and comprising a whole host of special features, celebrity guests and content created by you.” One of those special features was a Bollywood dance sequence: Nakul Dev Mahajan’s dance troupe Ndm Bollywood Dance Productions Inc was asked to be a part of the special day and teach the boys some Bollymoves and perform with them during one of the segments.

One of the things we like to do here at BollySpice is not only focus on the world of Bollywood, but also to shine the light on artists outside of Hindi films. This week, we are featuring dancer Alex Wong. Because of his outstanding technique and talent, he is known as Alex “Freakin” Wong to the fans of the popular Us dance show, So You Think You Can Dance. A classically trained ballet dancer, he was a soloist with Miami City Ballet when he first auditioned for the dance reality show in 2009. He was unable to compete that season because of a contract issue with the ballet company. The next year Alex was back and was on his way to winning the show when tragedy struck and he tore his achilles tendon. That didn’t stop this amazing dancer. Anything that comes to me I embrace it I just feel a sense of gratitude, even if it is something that happens every year for me, I never, ever feel that it is going to happen no matter what.

The Top 10 became 8 this week on So You Think You Can Dance with the first appearance by this season's All-Stars, which included fan faves Nick Lazzarini, tWitch, Brandon Bryant, Allison Holker, Jaimie Goodwin and (finally!) Alex Wong. Along with guest judge Benjamin Millepied (French ballet dancer/choreographer and married to Natalie Portman), judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy were clearly more pleased with the dancers this week after last week's disappointing Mia Michaels' tribute episode. It also probably helped that many of the dances were choreographed by Travis Wall, Nakul Dev Mahajan, Dmitry Chaplin and Emmy nominees Stacey Tookey and Spencer Liff.
AfterElton was backstage after this week's show to get Murphy's take on the show as well as grab a few minutes with the dancers, choreographers and All-Stars.

The So You Think You Can Dance All-Stars returned to dance with the Top 10 contestants Wednesday night — and look who we have here! Season 7 standout Alex Freaking Wong, who exited early because of an Achilles tendon injury and had to sit out last summer, after being invited back as an All-Star, because he’d hurt the Other Achilles tendon. I would guess that Alex Wong’s abs positively loathe his Achilles tendons for denying them their rightful opportunity to glisten on national television whenever possible.

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to talk with Nakul Dev Mahajan, the Bollywood choreographer on the fabulous dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance. We ran the interview (you can read it here) last Tuesday, the day before the show goes live on Wednesday on Fox Network. I thought it might be the week for a Bollywood number and I was right and what a number it was! Closing the show ballet dancer Chehon Wespi-Tschopp and Ballroom beauty Witney Carson blew everyone in the audience and the judges away with their outstanding performance in the highly technical piece. It was done brilliantly with energy, style, very good hands and fingers and it brought the house down.
Of course, after the number was so successful, I had to find out more about the rehearsals and the performance from Nakul. Once again he took time away...

Nobody said it would be easy mashing up So You Think You Can Dance‘s weekly performances and results into a single, 120-minute telecast. But just as an old Cat can learn new dance steps — our hostess really did boogie as she made her entrance in a sultry red dress! — so too did Sytycd manage to pack in a group number, a special guest performance (from the cast of Step Up Revolution), 10 competitive routines, and a brutal set of results that lopped off a fifth of the Season 9 crop.

Before I came to write about the great world of Bollywood, I was a professional ballet dancer for many years. It was my first love. So when I discovered Bollywood, the dance sequences were one of the things that made me fall in love with the genre. Since I am a dancer, one of my all time favorite shows is the reality dance program, So You Think You Can Dance (Sytycd) on Fox network here in the Us. You can imagine how excited I was when I first saw a Bollywood number on the show in Season 4. I was ecstatic and so it seems was the audience. Since then the Bollywood numbers have thrilled audiences and I hear will be seen on the 9th season, which is airing now on Wednesday nights. So You Think You Can Dance delivered surprising twists aplenty on Wednesday night. Nine of the 10 remaining dancers scored rave reviews from the judges. One choreographer got spanked rather harshly by this week’s guest panelist. And an All-Star dancer bled (rather sexily) for his art. But nothing will be more shocking than seeing one of Season 8′s fabulous female contestants head home on this week’s results show. (Shouldn’t the FCC step in and threaten Fox with a hefty fine for denying us another week of one of these singularly fierce ladies? And doesn’t that sentence make...

Tears flowed faster than the footwork of the dreaded quickstep during tonight’s So You Think You Can Dance results-show telecast, but ultimately the right two dancers went home. Russell Ferguson made "So You Think You Can Dance" history this week, becoming the first finalist to lose his partner to injury twice, being forced to perform with last second fill-ins.
You may recall that this went down back in October when Noelle Marsh hurt her knee and had to sit the first week of competition out. Russell performed a ballroom number with choreographer Melanie Lapatin in her place.
This week, the kid had to do a Shane Sparks hip hop routine and a Nakul Dev Mahajan Bollywood piece sans a sling-armed Ashleigh.

15. Pasha & Sara's West Coast Swing Season 3, Top 14, July 11, 2007 "Oh, jeebus," we all (or, at least I) thought. "That camera-mugging doofus from season 2, Benji, is choreographing a West Coast swing number. And poor Pasha and Sara have just started working as partners, too. What kind of hot mess is this gonna be?" Turns out the joke was on us (or just me). The season 2 Sytycd champion pulled out all his signature moves — the shoe slide, the double cartwheel — but it was Pasha and Sara (i.e., the breaker who was not supposed to be able to do this) that brought the number home, performing as if they'd been swing dancing together for years and keeping the energy dialed to 11 without ever showing us the effort. 14.
