Following several days of rumoured speculation, Infinity Ward has officially confirmed the resolution disparity between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts. News comes via Twitter, where the company’s executive producer Mark Rubin stated that the Xbox One will natively output the game in 720p —before upscaling it to 1080p— whereas the PlayStation 4 will run the first person shooter at 1080p from the get-go.
Here’s what Rubin had to say about the game’s resolution:
“Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4. We optimized each console to hit 60 Fps and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week’s launch.

Move over guys, there's a lady in the room. Infinity Ward has revealed that "Call of Duty: Ghosts" will introduce the option of playing a female soldier to the multiplayer mode of the game for the first time. Females have been seen in the single-player campaign in past versions of "Call of Duty," but never in multiplayer.
Mark Rubin, the studio lead for the game, tells the La Times the female soldier comes with the option to customize your in-game player, whereas in the past it was randomized. He also notes that it's not simply the same male character, with a female skin laid on top of it. "We had to motion-capture differently. We couldn't use our guy animation on a girl, so it became a big thing."
The new playable character was unveiled during a trailer for the game's multiplayer mode which ended with a view of a female sniper.

Infinity Ward has already revealed what players can expect from the single player narrative for Call of Duty: Ghosts, but a behind-the-scenes documentary has given fans first details on how next-gen technology will impact graphical fidelity and shatter our conceptions of multiplayer.
The next-generation of technology has allowed Infinity Ward to improve the graphical presentation of Call of Duty significantly. Improvements have been made to the game engine by the means of interactive smoke, improved textures, particle enhancements, improved fluid dynamics, polygon increases, and a significantly enhanced lighting system. In addition to these core alterations, Infinity Ward’s new Sub D technology maintains the curvature of polygons as players close the distance between themselves and the object which will vastly improve the overall graphical presentation.

The first official in-game trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts has been revealed today alongside Microsoft’s Xbox One blowout, and it’s teasing a very different game world than previous instalments have delivered.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is aiming to put players in a world where the United States has been devastated by an unknown weapon of mass destruction delivered by a technologically superior super-force. Infinity Ward was plagued by the question of what would happen if America was the underdog, rather than a super power? How would this impact our lives and the way in which we engage in warfare? What would that gameplay experience be like?
Luckily, fans will be able to answer this question exactly when they assume the role of an American soldier who has grown up in the aftermath of America’s downfall ten to fifteen years after the devastating event.

Confirming recent retailer listings and a Youtube video from last March, Activision has officially announced that Call of Duty: Ghosts will launch on November 5, 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and “next generation platforms.”
Activision made the announcement today on their Facebook page, revealing that Infinity Ward is developing Call of Duty: Ghosts and that the game will be fully revealed during Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox event on May 21, 2013.
As part of today’s debut, the publisher also released a short teaser video for Call of Duty: Ghosts. The live-action video mainly consists of brief shots of several different masked warriors from throughout history, before finally ending on a squad of modern-day soldiers wearing skull masks. Over the course of the teaser trailer the following narrative is heard:
“There are those who wear masks to hide. Those who wears masks to show us what the stand for. To inspire. To unite.

Striking Russian opera singer and wife of Mstislav Rostropovich, she was made an 'unperson' during the Soviet era
The soprano Galina Vishnevskaya, who has died aged 86, coloured her performances of opera, and especially of Russian song, so beautifully that full comprehension was not essential for enjoyment. Of course, once you did understand the words, you realised how much meaning she brought to them.
Possessed of a striking physical presence with lustrous dark hair, she was such a natural actor that she became the star of her generation at the Bolshoi opera company in Moscow, forging artistic relationships with the stage director Boris Pokrovsky and the conductor Alexander Melik-Pashaev. And – appropriately for a performer who sang with all the skill of an instrumentalist – for more than half a century she was married to Mstislav Rostropovich, not just a great cellist, but also a considerable conductor and pianist.

Terminal will bring its airport-based gunfights to the Xbox 360 version of Modern Warfare 3 on July 17, giving Elite subscribers the opportunity to download the incredibly popular map before their non-subscribing peers. The latter group will have to wait until the next day, July 18, although everyone will receive the airport map for free.
When this offer was revealed earlier this week by Infinity Ward‘s Mark Rubin, it was confirmed that it would not be a part of the Elite subscription model, and would be a gift to the general community instead. However, release date information was unavailable at that time.
This is good news for those of us who felt that Terminal was the best of all of Modern Warfare 2‘s maps.
At this point in time, the PC and PS3 versions of this content drop are awaiting their deployment dates.

While most of us were prepping fireworks and grilling massive amounts of meat, Activision decided to celebrate our Independence Day by revealing a huge Call of Duty Dlc sale meant to entice those of us you haven't stepped up yet. It also turns out that the “Terminal” map from Modern Warfare 2 will be making it's way to Modern Warfare 3.
Much to the dismay of many Call of Duty Elite subscribers, Activision has reveled that all Dlc map packs for Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 will be available at 50% off for all players through July 9th. So what's the catch? There isn't one. Apparently Activision is just feeling nice this week and a percentage of each Dlc sale will go to benefit America's veteran soldiers.

Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin has announced that the popular Terminal multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be available “soon” on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as a free download.
Rubin confirmed the news on his Twitter account after video footage of the Terminal map leaked out late last month. The exact details of how and when the map will be released have not been announced, but Rubin has said that it will be “free for all users, both non-elite and Elite Premium”, and will be released “within the next few weeks”. Rubin also stated that Terminal may be included as a title update, in lieu of Dlc, and won’t necessarily be released on the Xbox 360 first.
An official announcement by Activision is expected to land Thursday or Friday. We’ll let you know as soon as it does.

Those of you unleashing thousands of rounds daily in Modern Warfare 3 will be happy to know that Infinity Ward is releasing brand new content today for Premium Elite subscribers on the Xbox 360. This will surely come as disappointing news for gamers everywhere, but at this point it’s unfortunately expected that the content be limited by some means at launch.
The new content will provide gamers with an additional Spec Ops mission called, Arctic Recon. In addition to the Spec Ops map, Infinity Ward will be adding the Vortex, U-Turn, and Intersection maps to the newly added Face Off mode.
Those of you who were wishing for some solid multiplayer support, fear not, because Mark Rubin revealed that the rest of the downloadable content is set to be regular multiplayer additions. He also mentions that this batch of multiplayer maps will likely be the last of their support for Face Off content.
