Exclusive: Teddy Sears (American Horror Stories) and Tamberla Perry (All-American: Homecoming) have landed roles in the NBC medical drama pilot Wolf starring Zachary Quinto.
From writer/executive producer Michael Grassi, Wolf is inspired by the books The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and An Anthropologist on Mars by Oliver Sacks. It follows a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist, Dr. Oliver Wolf (Quinto), and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while also grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
Sears will play Dr. Josh Nichols, a neurosurgeon who left a private practice in San Francisco to work at Bronx General. Josh is clinical, exacting and relies on technology to treat his patients — the opposite of Wolf. The two will go toe-to-toe and develop a competitive relationship full of tension.

The clocks have gone back in the UK, meaning longer, darker nights and the sense summer is long gone. Happily, there’s plenty of news to keep us occupied. Jesse Whittock here taking you through the first Insider of the month. Let’s go.
Roku Gets Down With Weird Al
Eilenberg! Right ahead!: I sat down, albeit virtually, with Roku’s Head of Originals David Eilenberg for an exclusive interview as the free streaming service launched feature Weird: The Al Yankovic Story this week. Roku’s a company that many in the content game are watching closely, as it begins rolling out internationally under the command of former Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier, who unexpectedly made the switch at the end of October. Eilenberg, the former Chief Content Officer of ITV America, has been working on a slate of films and TV shows since he joined earlier this year.

Emily Head has said that she didn't expect to return for The Inbetweeners 2.
The actress played Simon's (Joe Thomas) on-off girlfriend Carli in the E4 sitcom and its first feature film in 2011. However, the character did not appear in the sequel released this year.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Emily claimed that she would have loved to have worked with her former colleagues again, but was aware that the likelihood of Carli's return was slim.
She said: "I still haven't seen it - I feel awful! I couldn't make it to the premiere, and then auditions and rehearsals have got in the way. I really do want to see it - I'm a big fan of the writers and the boys.
"I would have liked to have returned in that I would have liked to have worked with everyone again, but I think Carli was so awful at the end...

What makes a classic? Sarah digs into the ‘90s teen genre to find the difference between an iconic movie and a forgotten one...

The 90s revival can’t be ignored any longer. The nostalgia is in full bloom right now: walk down the high street and you’ll see 90s-inspired crop tops and stonewashed denim in every shop window, while current cool kids Iggy Azalea and Charli Xcx (neither of whom were old enough to see the film at the time) have paid slavish tribute to Clueless in the video for their current single Fancy. We’ve already pillaged the ‘80s for all they were worth and now, apparently, it’s time to start excavating the 90s. No matter how old that makes us feel.
If there’s one film genre that screams “90s”, it’s the teen movie. The decade was a kind of golden age for the...

Democracy is a flawed concept. Here are 50 films that the IMDb voters would unfairly have you believe are worth no more than 5.9/10…
Six out of ten isn’t a very good score, really. It’s barely over half marks. 60 per cent. It’s alright, but it’s not great. You wouldn’t be proud of getting six out of ten on most kinds of tests, would you? So you might assume that any film that scores under six stars out of ten on the IMDb isn’t very good – possibly even terrible.
But that’s not always the case. Averages don’t tell the whole story; anything that’s potentially controversial or divisive will end up with a score that suggests most people weren’t that bothered about it, since high and low scores will be averaged – and IMDb users often exaggerate their scores anyway, giving a film one star...

Director of Mysterious Skin and Kaboom is keeping indie pop alive by featuring new music and remixes by his favourite bands
This week sees the DVD release of two films from the singular talent of Gregg Araki: 1993's Totally Fucked Up and Kaboom, his most recent. It's always tempting to look for patterns and themes in a director's work, but in Araki's case, there's little that connects them all. The disenfranchised gay teens of Totally Fucked Up don't share much common ground with the silly stoners of his later comedy Smiley Face; and it's hard to reconcile the serious, subtle Mysterious Skin with the knockabout thrills of Splendor and Kaboom.
But for all the hallucinatory imagery, ambisexual cavorting, drug taking, violence and other shocking facets of Araki's work, there's one element that runs through them all: the music. When he says that "Kaboom is my most autobiographical and personal...
