After the thoroughly depressing part 1 finale of Bachelor in Paradise, in which Kirk broke up with Carly, it was definitely time for something more uplifting – and Monday night's final episode really delivered.
Spoiler alert: If you haven't seen the season 2 finale of Bachelor in Paradise, stop reading now.
The episode culminated with Jade and Tanner getting engaged, and it was the most adorable thing in the world.
We'll get to that, but first, a recap of the remaining couples that made it (and didn't make it) to the end of Paradise.

As Bachelor in Paradise came to a close, Carly wasn't the only one reeling from her breakup from Kirk. All of the remaining ladies — especially Jade — seemed totally taken aback by the reality that such a solid couple could fall apart so unexpectedly. (Granted, Kirk had been having doubts for some time, but he hadn't given Carly even a hint that his feelings were changing.) Sensing that Jade was really shaken by the split, Tanner said, "She could either feel sad for Carly but stay [...]...

It's I-do-or-die time as the second season of Bachelor in Paradise wraps up, and after arguably the most devastating breakup in franchise history, we're left with four couples chasing a chance at love.
The eliminations came early and often in the leadup to the final week, including Mackenzie's self-deportation simply to avoid spending time with Mikey. But none was harsher than Kirk blindsiding Carly, who apparently made the mistake of believing it was okay to discuss kids and the future. You know, chick stuff.

Here's one way to make lemonade out of lemons: Turn your televised dumping into a showcase for your music career. Carly Waddell just got her heart broken last night on the first part of the "Bachelor in Paradise" Season 2 finale. Tonight will feature the second part of the finale, plus an "After Paradise" special where Carly and Kirk DeWindt will discuss what went wrong. (Awwwwkwwwarrrrd.)
At end of Sunday's show, Kirk dumped Carly in what most viewers -- especially Carly -- found to be a shocking move. They had seemed so happy, but apparently he was having doubts and just wasn't on the same page as Carly. Tanner (who always has plenty to say to the cameras, behind everyone's backs) said it was kind of an a--hole move for Kirk to wait until the 11th hour. Kirk shouldn't have led Carly on to that extent, but he does deserve some...

Host Chris Harrison warns us before every episode that this one will be the most dramatic one of all time – but this time, it actually might deserve that title.
A lot happened in the two-hour part 1 season finale of Bachelor in Paradise, including the fact that basically half the cast left the show, but it's safe to say the most insane part that still has us reeling was that Kirk broke up with Carly. We'll get to that ... but first, a quick rundown of all the other relationships that crashed and burned (and the few that blossomed) on Sunday night's episode.

That delicious summer mess called "Bachelor in Paradise" is ending its 2015 season this Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7, followed by one last "After Paradise" special with Rosemaster Chris Harrison. We're really going to miss that cute opening pose from Kirk. Not so much all the *drama* and tears.
But speaking of drama and tears (and Kirk), how are things going to end for the Season 2 couples? Paradise has been a revolving door of craziness, but there should only be one more person joining the mix -- beautiful single mom Cassandra Ferguson from Juan Pablo Galavis's season -- and a Lot of people are leaving. Reality Steve posted spoilers on the final two episodes of dates and departures, with scoop on the three couples that elected to stay together, including the one that got engaged.

In classic fashion, Sunday's episode of Bachelor in Paradise kicked off with some good old Samantha-Joe drama.
Samantha, who had said yes to a date with Justin the night before, mysteriously changed her mind the next morning, deciding she wouldn't be going on the date and that she wanted to get back together with Joe. (Keep in mind she had just dumped him on his birthday.) Joe, of course, was so over-the-moon at her sudden change of heart that he didn't think for a second that she might flip-flop on him again. Spoiler alert: She did, and it wasn't pretty.

Paradise is living up to its name! Well, for some of the Bachelor in Paradise contestants, at least. The Aug. 24 episode of the ABC reality show proved that the sunny Mexico set had also become hell for others. With lovebirds like Jade and Tanner, and Kirk and Carly, mucking up Bachelor in Paradise (Hotel) with their, eh hem, "normal" relationships, I'd like to wish Moonshine Joe a hearty happy birthday for saving season 2 of this spin-off series.
Without him, all we'd have for drama is Jared breaking up with everybody while attempting to maintain his nice guy status (pair him up with Jade and I bet he'll be over Kaitlyn real quick) and Ashley I. filling the night sky with her wails of despair. That, and the comedy of Jj distracting from his awesomeness by opening his mouth to talk and Mikey kiss-raping anyone who doesn't want to give him her rose.

On Sunday's episode of Bachelor in Paradise, we almost felt a little sympathy for Joe as he spent the entire time following Samantha around like a lovesick puppy, threw himself a romantic birthday dinner and then got dumped.
But then we remembered that Joe fully established himself as this season's villain and realized we don't actually feel bad for him at all.

After the rose ceremony, in which Jonathan, Mikey and Michael were sent home, this week the Bachelor in Paradise couples were all over the place, with some solidifying their healthy relationship (Carly and Kirk), some breaking up unexpectedly (Ashley S. and Dan) and some just blowing our minds (Joe and his complete lack of respect and decency).
Carly and Kirk Were Basically Meant to Be
Carly and Kirk were coupled up by the end of the first episode and have been inseparable ever since.
This week, Carly got her first date card, sending the two went on a romantic one-on-one date.

Bachelor in Paradise season two only just premiered on Sunday, but viewers have already seen a few pairs go from sexy strangers to committed couples faster than Ashley Iaconetti downed those lemon drop shots: Tanner Tolbert and Jade Roper immediately hit it off, as did Carly Waddell and Kirk DeWindt. The runner-up to the Juan Pablo sweepstakes (which really means she won, no?) is back in Mexico for a third shot at love and taking aim at the early couples.
She's got her sights set on Tanner, Kirk and Jared, who are paired up with Jade, Carly and Ashley I. (sort of), respectively. Though unfortunately for newbie sister Lauren, Clare seems to have as much regard for Mikey as the self-proclaimed slut.

How Cell Phones Would Have Ruined Most Of Our Favorite Movies
By
Alex Simon
If you’re a pop culture maven, most likely it can be agreed that the modern cell phone can be traced back to two classic TV series of the 1960s: Star Trek and Get Smart. Captain James Tiberius Kirk and his USS Enterprise crew were always armed with their “communicators” when traveling abroad on a distant planet. They were palm-sized devices with covers the flipped open, providing instant connection with the orbiting space ship. This design was aped, no doubt, by former Trekkies for the classic “flip phone” design that ruled the high-tech roost in the late 90s and early millennium.
Secret Agent 86 Maxwell Smart had his shoe phone, surely the most creative (and ridiculous) example of technology ever invented by someone who was most likely thought to be a creative and scientific genius. However, it...

Is the biggest talent to emerge on The Voice this season not a contestant, but newbie coach Pharrell Williams?
It sure looked that way Tuesday night, when the "Happy" singer/songwriter showed off his tender side and tactical strategy while playing a key role in all three battles featured on the second night of the battle rounds.
The show kicked off with Team Pharrell, and pitted Alabama college student Jordy Searcy, 20, against musician-turned-Texas-family-man Taylor Phelan, 25, singing the moving hit "Breakeven (Falling to Pieces)." Williams, along with advisor Alicia Keys, focused on coaxing more emotional performances out of the pair.

The show kicked off with Team Pharrell, and pitted Alabama college student Jordy Searcy, 20, against musician-turned-Texas-family-man Taylor Phelan, 25, singing the moving hit "Breakeven (Falling to Pieces)." Williams, along with advisor Alicia Keys, focused on coaxing more emotional performances out of the pair."Don't overthink.

A former child actor who was born and raised in New York City, Reynier Molenaar made his debut in the entertainment industry as a child actor, premiering in such landmark music videos as Krs-one's My Philosophy, and the Latin Empire's Puerto Rican And Proud, directed by Henry Chalfant (Style Wars). He would later in life attend The California Institute of the Arts, where he made the switch from acting to directing-producing and began his career at Fox Searchlight Pictures, where he produced original content for films such as I Think I Love My Wife, Notes on a Scandal, The Namesake, and Little Miss Sunshine, among many others.
Leading up to the release of mega selling multi-platinum metal band Metallica's documentary, Metallica Through the Never, IMAX reached out to him to create a short film 'Metallica – Amped For IMAX' for the fans which was a collaboration with the band themselves. We asked him to share his experiences with us.
LatinoBuzz: How did you discover filmmaking?
Reynier: My dad took me to see E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial when I was about 3 years old. It was my first movie and I was captivated by the magic on the big screen. Pet aliens, flying bikes, kids outsmarting adults -- I was hooked! But when I found out that E.T. had to go home, I had a stage-4 meltdown. My dad carried me out to the lobby where he tried to comfort me. As he wiped my tears away, he revealed that movies were make-believe. He told me that they were all pretend. Somebody just made that stuff up! He even said, get this, a director's job was to make-believe with cameras. ...wait, what? Mind Blown. I've been playing with film ever since.
LatinoBuzz: What is the most rewarding thing about film & video for you?
Reynier: I love dreaming up stories and making them come to life. I love shepherding ideas through that creative process. There's something magical that happens when you focus all your energy on realizing your imagination -- life takes you on some incredible adventures. I've bombed around with parkour stuntmen, flown in hot-air balloons, hung off the sides of speeding cars, battled zombies, and most recently, hung out with rock legends. Every project feels like a chance to dream my next adventure into existence, which makes the work a reward unto itself.
LatinoBuzz: When you were approached by Metallica's people, what were your first thoughts and what was the creative process behind the concept you came up with?
Reynier: I was pretty stoked when IMAX contacted me about directing a branded short for Metallica Through the Never. I had just finished working with IMAX on another production (for Disney), so it was pretty gratifying to hear they wanted me back so soon. Not to mention I'm a huge Metallica fan! We kicked-off the production with a screening of Metallica Through the Never in IMAX 3D -- which was a lot of fun! It was all I could do not to break out my devil horns during the film. Then I went home and watched all of Metallica's documentaries. I found backstage footage of the band. I listened to all of their music. I wanted to make sure our short felt authentic to the fans. I wrote four concepts and then designed some visual boards. I always try to put some visuals together when I'm pitching ideas to clients
. On short-form projects, like commercials, it can be hard to convey the proper tone with just a written script. I think visuals can help everybody get on the same page very quickly. Once Metallica and IMAX signed off on the concept, things started to move really fast. Sedna Films prepped our crew in record time, including 2 units lead by my talented director of photography, Spencer Goodall. And after a couple of short weeks, we were filming Metallica, a biker gang and 1,600 screaming fans at a secret show in San Diego. I'm still pinching myself!
LatinoBuzz: I can't imagine what it is like to hang with those guys, how were they to work with?
Reynier: They were all super nice dudes, and such natural performers. I got to film with them individually, so it was cool to style each of their scenes to match their personalities. Robert Trujillo was a lot of fun to work with, since he was just as enthusiastic as some of the fans. He was incredibly generous with his takes, which helped me find some great improvised moments with him. Lars Ulrich had a really strong presence. It was pretty obvious we didn't need to do much more than point a camera at him. So we gave him some bold, dramatic lighting and let his expressive eyes do all the talking. His shots are some of my favorite in the short -- so much intensity.
We shot Kirk Hammett's scenes while he warmed up for the show. It was a pretty incredible experience to hang with the maestro while he rocked his personal axe, affectionately labeled "Kirk's Guitar." At one point my camera team and I broke away for a late bite. Since we happened to be eating an hour later than everybody else, we were the only ones around to find Metallica jamming out in their private "tuning room," next door. When James Hetfield emerged and found us scarfing down our dinner, he apologized for the loud music. We just thanked him for the awesome tunes and said we dug listening to Metallica rock while we ate. James chuckled as he walked off toward the stage, "yeah man! Dinner music!"
LatinoBuzz: What are you working on next?
Reynier: I'm on hold to direct a commercial that involves some spy action goodness... I would tell you more, but then I'd have to kill you. Just take my word for it, as a grown man with a James Bond ring tone: I'm excited!

Readying themselves for the Christmas onslaught Titan Books have wisely chosen to publish collections from two artists whose work is both instantly recognisable and highly sought after.
Both drawing from the deep well of popular culture these two books are great examples of how a personal take on the joy to be had from beloved movies, games and TV can become something very special indeed.
Olly Moss’s Silhouettes from Popular Culture takes many of the exhibits from his solo show Paper Cuts which was housed at the wonderful Gallery 1988 in L.A. last year and the result is a cornucopia of famous faces reduced, but not diminished, to their silhouette. Fans of the artist’s minimalist movie posters will recognise the wit and precision of his work, and half the fun is working out who each of the characters are, with visual clues, clever juxtaposing and the odd splash...

This Means War
Directed by: McG
Cast: Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Chelsea Handler
Running Time: 1 hr 38 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: February 17, 2012
Plot: Two best friends and CIA agents (Pine and Hardy) fall for the same woman (Witherspoon). They try to top one another for her affections.
Who’S It For? This one is mainly for the ladies who absolutely adore the idea of two good-looking men fighting over her.
Overall
A hip bass line starts us off. Two CIA agents strut in and get ready for battle. Gun fire, explosions, and fisticuffs follow. We’re watching a spy movie! Right about then, the record screeches. This Means War makes me mad, even though it’s just an average, forgettable film.
The reason you may think I’m upset is because it begins as an action film and quickly turns into a rom-com. That’s not the case.

“None of use deserve $250,000,” said gorgeous but mildly crazy Michelle Money during Monday night’s season finale of Bachelor Pad. Truer words may not have been spoken on the small screen all year. Well, except maybe Queen of All Meltdowns Melissa admitting that, “Clearly, I do not do well on reality TV.” Or perhaps blandly inoffensive Kirk weighing in on Kasey and Vienna’s unholy union thusly: ”They are an awful couple — let’s be honest.”

Before we jump into the finale of Bachelor Pad I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to honor the anniversary our country recognized this weekend. I hope every one of you took an extra moment to hug and say I love you to those closest to you as we marked the tenth anniversary of 9/11. It is my hope that we will always remember and let this moment in our history always let us keep perspective on what’s truly important in our lives.
Once again, like our premiere, the finale took up all three hours of prime time on ABC.

It's the season finale of Bachelor Pad, and this one is supersized again, just to go out with a bang! (Like from a gun. Shooting you in the face.) So buckle in for three hours of idiocy as the four remaining couples -- Michelle & Graham, Kasey & Vienna, Kirk & Ella and Michael & Holly -- attempt to sharpen their last shards of dignity into the shape of a sword so as to stab each other in the back for that final prize of $250,000. But at least they'll all walk away with what they really wanted, which was more attention for doing close to nothing.
Riveting stuff -- only the week before the real TV shows start could handle it all! (And it's happening at the same time as the latest Gop presidential debate, just so you can decide which group of self-serving blowhards you'd rather hear lie to each other's plastic faces.

The finale of "Bachelor Pad 2" is upon us. For the final challenge, the contestants are whisked off to Las Vegas to perform with a high-flying stage show, Cirque du Soleil-style.
The remaining couples are Kasey/Vienna, Michael/Holly, Kirk/Ella and Graham/Michelle. Who are you guys rooting for? None of them seem too thrilled about the final contest, but we think it looks kind of awesome.
And in the below clip - well, no episode would be complete without a Kasey/Vienna argument. Please don't let them win. Anybody but them.
The "Bachelor Pad" finale airs Monday night (Sept. 12) at 8 p.m. Et on ABC. It's three hours, so don't forget to change your DVR.

At this point, there seems to be more baggage than contestants in the Bachelor Pad house. The four remaining couples - Vienna and Kasey, Michelle and Graham, Holly and Michael, and Ella and Kirk - each have their own unique histories, strategies, and, naturally, drama, which should add up to fireworks on Monday night's finale. Masterminds from the start, real-life couple Vienna and Kasey have been able to influence other contestants since they all moved in together, but their arguing and manipulation could get the best of them. Hey, "Bachelor Pad" fans. Sorry about how late this is, I was driving home from getting married when it aired and it's been a busy week! But never fear, here we are for the penultimate episode.
Post-Elimination
Everybody goes inside as Chris Harrison tells them to pair up because starting tomorrow they compete, win and get voted off as a couple. He also advises to get to know their partner. Blake is immediately smirking at Holly, but she promised Michael - which she should also be happy about because for a "know your partner" competition, Holly would fare better with Michael than Blake.
And haha, Blake as the cheese stands alone has to pair up with Erica and she throatily says, "I feel like we should get to know each other." Heh. Erica is like if Melissa ate Kathleen Turner.
The couples who aren't actual couples in life are busy...

Do you think Erica & Blake deserved to go home this week?
The Sept. 5 episode of ABC’s Bachelor Pad featured a super-awkward Newlywed-style game, where the women answered questions the way they thought their male counterparts would. Needless to say, we all learned something.
Vienna and Kasey thought they had it in the bag, but little did they know, it’s all about strategy. Maybe they shouldn’t have gone to bed so early the night before, because Graham and Michelle came up with a great one!
Somehow, the whole competition came down to them and the couple who knew each other the least — Erica and Blake — leaving poor Vienna and Kasey in dead last. She busted out her trademark crazy eyes and looked like she was going to kill him!
(Side note: What’s up with Kasey calling these other men snakes? To be fair, though, Blake does rhyme with snake.

This week's Bachelor Pad opens with Chris Harrison advising everybody that they need to find partners because they will be playing as couples from now on. That means they will vote as couples and be voted out of the show as couples. Vienna and Kasey and Michelle and Graham are the obvious couples, while Ella and Kirk and Holly and Michael also team up. Holly admits that as much as she would love to be Blake's partner, she previously promised Michael that she would team with him and she won't go back on her word. That leaves a coupling of Blake and Erica. As a final twist, Chris tells the contestants they should probably "get to know" their partner. That means there is a long night of learning ahead for the couples less familiar with each other as they try to revise all the information they can. The Nearlyweds...

As the number of morally compromised, fame-hungry lunatics diminishes each week on Bachelor Pad, inanimate objects must step up and bring the entertainment. On this week’s episode, for example, an electric toothbrush and a yogurt cup provided stellar supporting work that was at least as interesting as the exhausting “will they or won’t they” romantic drama between Michael and Holly. Let’s recap the action:
Things kick off with a resolution to last week’s “cliffhanger.” (I know some of you optimists wondered if Chris Harrison’s rose-ceremony utterance of “Kasey” would be followed by the word “psych!

Bachelor Pad opens right where we left off last week with Kasey getting the final rose and Jake getting his marching orders. The latter, however, has something to say before he departs the mansion. He advises the remaining players that they need to vote off the power couples if they want to have any chance of winning the $$250,000. He adds: "Kasey, amazing meeting you. Vienna, my apologies. In my heart - forgiven." Jake says in the limousine that he isn't heartbroken at leaving the show because he came to find closure and forgiveness with Vienna and that happened. He's actually "kind of glad to be out of that f**king crazy house". Back inside, Vienna and Kasey are thrilled by Jake's departure. Vienna's new plan is to ensure she and Kasey, Michael and Holly, Graham and Michelle and Kirk and Ella make it to the end. Ella and Erica,...
