Netflix brings the story of a notorious drug queenpin to life in Griselda. The six-episode limited series is inspired by the real saga of “Cocaine Godmother” Griselda Blanco, a Colombian woman who became a prominent player in Miami’s violent cocaine trade in the 1970s and 1980s.
Sofia Vergara plays Blanco, a ruthless underworld figure who relies on a combination of charm and savagery to navigate between business and family. Argentinean actor Martín Rodríguez plays her right-hand man, enforcer Rivi Ayala, who was in thrall to his powerful boss.
“Rivi Ayala is based on a real person who was very close to Griselda,” Rodríguez told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “He is completely fascinated by her and is willing to do anything for her.”

Following the success of the Narcos franchise, Netflix is diving headfirst back into another biographic series about the drug empire led by Griselda Blanco with Sofia Vergara. The new limited series, consisting of six episodes, is coming to Netflix globally in January 2024. Here’s what you need to know about Griselda.
News of the show first came about in November 2021, with Illuminerdi first reporting that a Narcos spin-off was in development with the same team. Days later, we also reported that the show was in development, and just a day after that, Netflix officially unveiled the title but was keen to stress that “there is no association or crossover between the shows.”
It’s taken a long time for Griselda to come to our screen. It reportedly took Latin World Entertainment eight years for the series to be picked up by a network.

Ted, the raunchy R-rated talking bear, is front and center in Peacock’s new event series that delves into the stuffed bear’s past, prior to the Ted films. Seth MacFarlane returns to the world he created as writer, executive producer, director, co-showrunner, and the voice of the talking bear, with Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh serving as writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners.
The official trailer confirms Ted’s behavior and language haven’t been cleaned up for the streaming service’s series. No, this is the same trash-talking stuffed bear audiences loved in the 2012 and 2015 movies.

In the fifties, it was the bold brushwork of the abstract expressionists. Our generation’s unique art is streaming content based on previously successful intellectual property. Actor Idris Elba made his feature directorial debut with the 2018 crime drama Yardie, and earlier this year we heard that he would be following that up with an action thriller called Infernus. That movie was supposed to get started filming in October, but appears to have been disrupted by the strikes. Above the Below started filming last week at Pinewood Studios, using two separate stages – including the studio’s underwater stage. In addition to co-directing, Elba also stars in the movie alongside Caitlin FitzGerald (Masters of Sex) and Hero Fiennes Tiffin (the After franchise).

When Tara Hernandez was fed up with “a lot of crap dates,” she handed the reigns of her love life to an unspecified dating app — happily “surrendering” herself to “these unseen numbers.”
“And I got something great. It worked out. I met my husband,” she said. “It’s not always successful, but I feel like that is a moment where we sort of recreate fate, essentially. A moment that could happen in a bar, we put that into data and numbers and code, and let it provide for us.”
There are millions of stories like this one, where partners find each other via a virtual assistant, resulting in incalculable happy memories. “These sort of moments, typically, you throw to the universe or friends,” Hernandez said. “[But] we now can throw to technology and say, ‘Find me my soulmate.’ And I really felt like I did.

In preparation for her latest production, “Tiny Beautiful Things,” costume designer Alana Morshead “stalked every book [Cheryl Strayed] wrote and everything [she] ever said, and put it into this show.”
Hulu’s newest limited series “Tiny Beautiful Things” released all eight episodes on April 8, and is based on Strayed’s best-selling collection of her “Dear Sugar” advice column, “Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar.” Kathryn Hahn stars as Clare, a mother and wife whose world begins to crumble — just in time for her to become an advice columnist.
Morshead immersed herself in the author’s previous work, diving into “Wild” and “Brave Enough,” in an effort to bring Strayed’s story to life through costuming nods and references to the author’s personal history. “It’s such a personal story,” Morshead told Variety. “I just wanted everything that Cheryl told me to be in the show.

Taylor Kinney is off Chicago Fire for the time being. The series, now in its 11th season, has survived several high-profile exits, temporary or otherwise. But Kinney, who plays Chicago Fire Department Lieutenant Kelly Severide, is a particularly disruptive loss for the long-running series.

The former Vampire Diaries star is a central figure in Fire, the crown jewel of the One Chicago primetime drama franchise. Season 11 was already in pre-production when he left, so it’s likely that we’re getting a very different version of the current storylines compared to what was originally planned.

Ensemble study of film professionals struggling with enforced isolation features some good performances but doesn’t really come together
There are some heartfelt performances and vignettes in this debut feature from producer-turned-director Kirsty Bell and writers Elizabeth Morris and Dominic Wells – and certainly some lustrous monochrome images from cinematographer Sergio Delgado. But this lockdown ensemble piece about a movie production stymied by Covid is self-conscious and doesn’t really come together, and the tonal shifts can be a little uncomfortable.
Camilla Rutherford plays Rebecca, an actor who gives a great performance in a film shoot that wraps just before the coronavirus restrictions land, but then succumbs to depression due to loneliness, unemployment and suspicion that this film will never see the light of day. Meanwhile kindly fellow actor David (Derek Jacobi) is all alone in his south of France villa and facing problems of his own. Editor Lucy (Morgana Robinson...

The nude bikini complemented Christina’s amazing figure and glowing skin. It featured a textured floral pattern in the same nude color on both the top and bottom.
The actress’s bikini style allowed her to show off her incredible abs and long legs. Christina wore her long, dark hair loose and pushed out of her face as she went for a swim.
Christina smiled brightly toward the camera and floated with her belly up in the crystal clear waters. The singer seemed happy and relaxed while immersed in the tropical location, and it’s no wonder she’d want to relive such a magical moment.

Scream Factory is decking the halls with horror this December with four new Blu-ray releases of IFC Midnight movies: I Am Not a Serial Killer, Let's Be Evil, The Devil's Dolls, and Shelley.
From Scream Factory: "We are proud to announce that we have Four new IFC Midnight films planned for release on Blu-ray & DVD this Dec!
The Devil’S Dolls - A serial killer's curse unleashes a season of slaughter in the backwoods of Mississippi. According to an ancient Guatemalan tradition, parents teach their children to allay their troubles by giving them handmade "worry dolls" just before bedtime. But when several of these talismans — which once belonged to a notorious mass murderer — find their way into the hands of unsuspecting residents of a small Southern town, it sets off a grisly wave of bloodshed. The latest from Rites of Spring director Padraig Reynolds is a voodoo-slasher shocker bursting with scarily inventive kills.

What to do about children who are not in control of themselves -- and aren't particularly acting their age? Presented largely through the eyes of three adults, Let's Be Evil begins with a summer-camp vibe. Directed by Martin Owen, the movie sets up a very odd camp, located underground in a coldly austere environment. Jenny (Elizabeth Morris) arrives, grateful for the job. She needs the money to help her infirm mother. She quickly meets Tiggs (Kara Tointon) and Darby (Elliot James Langridge), who are also about her age, and they're all given augmented reality glasses. Their job is to act as chaperones for a small group of children who are enrolled in special advance learning classes. They, too, wear augmented reality glasses, sitting around a...

Uh oh. With alarms sounding, two young women scurry down a darkened hallway. One says to the other, "Everything will be Ok." Automatically, we know it won't be. Indeed, our exclusive clip from Let's Be Evil portends that something bad is about to happen (just in case the title itself wasn't enough of a giveaway). For the setup, here's the official synopsis: In Let's Be Evil, three chaperones are hired to supervise an advanced learning program for gifted children, who wear Augmented Reality Glasses to assist in their education. Contained within a secure, underground facility, events quickly spiral out of control. The film was written by Martin Owen with story by Elizabeth Morris and Owen, based on an original idea by Jonathan Willis. Elizabeth Morris,...

A trailer for Martin Owen's horror satire 'L.A. Slasher' has arrived bringing with it slickness, a classic 80's tune and an Andy Dick voiceover.
