Bad Boys apparently really are for life as it seems that this action-packed franchise isn’t ending anytime soon with Sony Pictures’ Bad Boys 4 set to reach theatres in just a couple months. This series, centered on detectives Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett of the Miami Police Department, has already produced three blockbuster films that have grossed over $840 million as well as a spinoff television show, L.A.’s Finest, making it one of the most successful buddy-cop action-comedy series in history. The most recent film, Bad Boys for Life, was one of the last movies to hit theaters before the pandemic shut them all down and was able to be a critical and box office success – so why would the franchise stop now? Will Smith and Martin Lawrence (Lowery and Burnett) are back for the fourth film, and this is music to the ears of fans of the series since...

The music festival Coachella hit this weekend with a wide array of genre artists. Notably, for the older millennial music fans, 90s bands such as Blur and No Doubt would take the stage. The festival would also feature a bevy of guest appearances that include such acts as Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Shakira, Paris Hilton and Kesha. Kesha would set social media and news outlets ablaze as she changed the lyrics to her hit song “Tik Tok” to say “fuck P. Diddy” during her performance with Reneé Rapp.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that during J Balvin’s set, Will Smith arrived on stage in his black suit and shades, which was “the last suit you’d ever wear” in Smith’s 1997 blockbuster film, Men in Black. Smith and Balvin would then duet in rapping to the title track of the sci-fi comedy that also starred Tommy Lee Jones. Their performance...

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die trailer has given audiences an explosive glimpse into what to expect from the upcoming fourth installment of the buddy cop actioner franchise.
Joining the duo in their latest adventure are Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Eric Dane, and more. Renowned record producer DJ Khaled is also among those returning to the franchise after his hilarious cameo appearance in the third film.

Speaking of the record executive, even Bad Boys star Will Smith was stunned by Khaled’s dedication to the role of Manny the Butcher. Within the given material, the 48-year-old disc jockey was actually able to entertain the viewers with his on-screen presence. It turns out he went full method-acting mode once he stepped into the set of Bad Boys for Life (2020).

Martin Lawrence and Will Smith play two Miami narcotics detectives, Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowery, in the Bad Boys franchise. The first film in the franchise was made in 1995 when Smith was still the young star from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. However, Lawrence was a major star at the time and it will surprise many fans to learn that he commanded a higher paycheck than Smith.

You imagine that it wasn’t discussed if a fourth Bad Boys film might happen. Because 2020’s long-awaited threequel ended up arriving with the title Bad Boys For Life – a name that would have been perfect for a fourth instalment in the series. But never mind – here we are, and given that For Life was a huge hit (earning over $400 million off a $90 million budget) it makes sense that Hollywood has pivoted right into another film. This one arrives with the title Bad Boys: Ride Or Die – and once again sees Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return as cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, shooting their way through all kinds of antics. This time, their boss, played by Joe Pantoliano, is framed for nefarious antics – sending Mike and Marcus on the run by association. Check out the trailer:

The boys are officially back and badder than ever. As a shining example in the increasingly popular genre known as "Dudes rock" cinema, it was only a matter of time before Sony brought back the buddy-cop "Bad Boys" franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. 2020's "Bad Boys For Life" felt like a fitting enough swan song for our favorite dynamic duo, even without the presence of Michael "Master of Bayhem" Bay in the director's chair. But newcomers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (known collectively as Adil & Bilall) capably channeled the spirit of the original two movies and proved there was still a little more juice to be squeezed out of this action series. Fast forward a few years, a pandemic, and one deeply unfortunate Oscars controversy later, and the quartet of Smith, Lawrence, and Adil & Bilall are gearing up to do it all over again.

Will Smith is back to throwing hands — for good, this time — in Sony’s first trailer for its new “Bad Boys” movie. Along with the trailer, we got a title: “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.” Hell yes.
Smith and his sidekick Martin Lawrence are back up to their old antics in the June 7 film. Four years removed from “Bad Boys 3,” in what we’ve all just colloquially called “Bad Boys 4” to this point, Smith’s Mike Lowrey is still a badass. Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett, well, he has a lot going on — including tummy issues. (A word of advice to Marcus: ginger ale is only a magic elixir if you forego the Skittles and convenience-store hot dog.)
The storyline goes a little something like this: Joe Pantoliano’s Capt. Conrad Howard is either dead or just being framed for a string of crimes he did not commit. He...

2025 will mark the 30th anniversary of the first film in the Bad Boys action franchise – but they’re not waiting around another year to release a sequel. Sony Pictures is set to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the first movie by giving Bad Boys 4 a theatrical release on June 7th (a date that puts it direct opening weekend competition with The Crow remake). With that date right around the corner, a trailer for Bad Boys 4 has arrived online, and you can check it out in the embed above! The trailer reveals that the film has officially been titled Bad Boys Ride or Die.

"Bad Boys" is something of an unlikely franchise. The first film is a comedy of errors; a buddy cop pic in which two very different partners have to pretend to be each other. Then there's the sequel, the bombastic, over-the-top, gleefully vile "Bad Boys II," in which director Michael Bay goes full Bayhem. And then we have the surprisingly good "Bad Boys For Life," a third film in which the characters have grown up a bit (it's also the only film in the series that Bay didn't direct). A fourth film, currently untitled, is in the works. But until that movie gets here, we have three films to deal with, and we went ahead and ranked them below!

The "Bad Boys" have officially been spotted on the job. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were seen filming "Bad Boys 4" in Orlando, Florida, per photos shared by Entertainment Tonight on June 8. They wore full body armor and carried faux assault rifles in the scene, which was reportedly set at the Gatorland amusement park.
Previously, Lawrence said that fans should have high expectations for the hotly anticipated movie. Brit actress Melanie Liburd has been cast in Columbia Pictures’ upcoming fourth Bad Boys title in what The Hollywood Reporter understands is a leading role.
The as-yet-untitled movie — which reunites stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence with their Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah — is currently in production (Smith and Lawrence spoke to CinemaCon from the set in Atlanta via a taped message during Sony’s opening night presentation Monday). It feels like a lifetime ago that "Bad Boys for Life" came roaring out the gate in January 2020, breathing fresh life into the '90s-born "Bad Boys" buddy cop action-comedy franchise and firmly establishing directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (aka Adil & Bilall) as skilled filmmakers capable of delivering a worthy "Bad Boys" sequel, even without the "Bayhem." Taking home a series-high 424 million, the movie kicked off what promised to be a big year at the box office. Alas, it wasn't meant to be.
One pandemic and an over-discussed incident involving one of the property's lead actors later, "Bad Boys 4" is, finally, officially moving forward at Sony Pictures. Franchise leads Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will return to headline the as-yet-untitled sequel, which is currently in "early pre-production" (per Sony's announcement) and has Adil & Bilall once again directing from a script by "Bad Boys for Life" scribe Chris Bremner.

The Bad Boys are coming back. A fourth installment in the “Bad Boys” action franchise is in pre-production at Sony Pictures, it was announced Tuesday.
The series’ original stars, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, announced the new installment in the franchise via posts on social media, which showed the two reuniting for filming on the project. The currently untitled film will see Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who directed 2020’s “Bad Boys for Life,” return as directors, with Chris Bremner writing the script. Series producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad, and Chad Oman return to produce along with Smith for Westbrook. Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman, and Jon Mone will executive produce the project.
Created by George Gallo, the “Bad Boys” action franchise focuses on Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence), two detectives in the Miami police department’s narcotics division, as they take on major cases and fight drug rings.

The “Bad Boys” are officially returning, with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence announcing that they’ll reunite for a fourth film in the franchise.
Sony Pictures confirmed that the untitled sequel is in early pre-production with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah returning to direct from a script by Chris Bremner. The filmmakers, who also helmed Warner Bros.’ scrapped “Batgirl” movie, directed 2020’s “Bad Boys for Life,” which reunited Smith and Lawrence as Miami-Dade detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, 25 years after the first “Bad Boys” film was released. Shortly after the threequel hit theaters, Sony announced that a fourth “Bad Boys” film was in development, and “Bad Boys for Life” went on to earn 426.5 million at the worldwide box office as one of the last pre-pandemic era blockbusters.

Ever since Will Smith slapped the taste out of Chris Rock’s mouth at the nationally-televised 2022 Oscars ceremony, Smith is spending most of his time picking up the pieces of his career. Smith’s silver-screen future appeared grim for a short time. Still, a knock-out performance in Antoine Fuqua’s Emancipation reminded everyone that Smith is a movie-making maverick and will shine again after the public moves on from his questionable display of aggression. One person who still believes in the power of Will Smith is Bad Boys franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about Smith returning for another sequel in the buddy cop action series. When asked if there’s a viable path forward for Bad Boys 4 with Will Smith attached, Bruckheimer offered some encouraging words:
“Absolutely. I mean, Will made a mistake, unfortunately. That’s not who he is. He’s a phenomenal actor,...

Bad Boys actor Martin Lawrence has weighed in on the future of the franchise in the wake of co-star Will Smith’s slap of Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
In a recent interview with Ebony, the actor dismissed the notion that the slap has put an end to plans for the fourth Bad Boys film, first announced in 2020. “We got one more at least,” he claimed.
Lawrence’s comments were in line with those of Sony chairman and CEO Tom Rothman, who said in a recent interview with Deadline that the idea the brakes have been pumped on the sequel is “inaccurate.”
“That movie’s been in development and still is. There weren’t any brakes to pump because the car wasn’t moving,” said Rothman. “That was a very unfortunate thing that happened, and I don’t think it’s really my place to comment, except to say that...

Martin Lawrence has shut down any rumors that Will Smith’s infamous Oscars slap has killed development on “Bad Boys 4.”
The “Bad Boys for Life” star told Ebony that the fourth installment of the franchise originally helmed by Michael Bay is still moving ahead.
“We got one more at least,” Lawrence hinted.
“Bay Boys” premiered in April 1995 and grossed 141 million worldwide. The film spurred two sequels, with “Bad Boys II” earning 273 million in 2003 and “Bad Boys for Life” grossing 426 million after releasing in January 2020. In the franchise, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence play detective partners and brothers Lieutenant Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, respectively.
“It was big,” Lawrence explained to Ebony of the first “Bad Boys” movie. “For us to come together and prove that we can deliver, and we can pull people into the box office — that two Black stars, two sitcom stars, could make money at the box office [was huge].”
Lawrence added,...

It took us a quarter of a century to get three entries in the Bad Boys franchise, but if recent reports are to be believed, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence could be set to stick around as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett for a whole lot longer. The 1995 original was notable for elevating both sitcom actors towards genuine movie stardom and serving as the directorial debut of Michael Bay, while the 2003 sequel is one of the most ludicrous and preposterously over the top action movies ever made.
A third installment seemed destined to be stuck in development hell after enduring countless false starts, but after seventeen years away, the duo returned in Bad Boys For Life, which scored the best critical reactions and biggest box office numbers yet and still ranks as one of the highest-grossing movies of 2020 after raking in almost $425 million globally.

“It’s official, baby! It’s official! Bad boys 3 is happening! It’s official! It’s official!” Smith continued as Lawrence, 53, could be heard saying,...
