Welcome to this review of the 2024 King and Queen of the Ring pay-per-view. Technically this was the 12th King of the Ring event, but the First combined King and Queen of the Ring; which took place on Saturday, May 25th, at the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Match #1: WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill def. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill needed everything in their arsenals to walk out as champions during a spirited title bout with Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. LeRae and Hartwell isolated and hobbled Belair, ruthlessly targeting the injury The Est suffered at the hands of The Poison Pixie a few weeks ago. Unfortunately for LeRae and Hartwell, a Storm was coming. Belair tagged in Cargill, and her unbelievable strength and athleticism more than evened the odds.

The much-anticipated King & Queen of the Ring came and went in front of another raucous international crowd, giving us an afternoon of solid wrestling and setting some future storylines into motion.
This premium live event had some added weight to it with the King & Queen matches, which we found out recently would give the winners a title shot at Summerslam
Crowing a King, and more recently a Queen, had been a staple of the WWE, with some of the most famous moments in the company's history coming during the event.
Think 'Austin 3:16 said I just whopped your ass' for starters.
But the matches that supplied their winners with crowns were just two on a heavy card that saw multiple titles up for grabs and ended up being a damn good time.
We're not here to break down the ins and outs of the matches. But we are here to...

The world of WWE has not been more exciting than it is now. With the Rock’s return and an incredible rivalry flaring up between the members of the Bloodline and Cody Rhodes, there seems to be so much to look forward to. The WWE is riddled with so much going on with different superstars all with their different storylines intertwining or unraveling from one moment to the next, the championship holders like Rhea Ripley have to be ready for any match that comes her way, especially for her title.
But on the bright side, along with the support of The Judgment Day by her side in the company, she also has her fiancée Buddy Matthews to push her to be the best in her personal life.
Rhea Ripley
And while the WWE fandom knows about this, they still cannot help but inquire about how Matthews felt with the Ripley X Dominik storyline that did wonders for their careers. When posed this question, the Women’s World Champion revealed that she too was surprised that her fiancée wasn’t bothered by it all that much, which actually made her jealous instead.

Brutus and Julius Creed wowed the WWE Universe, especially when Julius lifted from his knees into a standing vertical suplex, showcasing his raw strength. The Creed Brothers continued their punishing attack, sending Ciampa through the announce table area and leaving Pat McAfee speechless. Julius and Brutus caught their opponents with tandem ankle locks, but Ciampa and Gargano countered into a Sicilian Stretch and Gargano Escape. Gargano scored the pinfall after both teams went back-and-forth with pin attempts.

Dwayne Johnson is one of the most charismatic and renowned personalities around the world, and he has already cemented himself as a multitalented man. He is renowned for not only having a successful acting career but also a successful wrestling career. However, ever since he made his WWE return, he has been making headlines due to his heated beef with The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes. The beef took a drastic turn when Seth Rollins joined hands with Rhodes to stop The Bloodline.
Dwayne Johnson
As the Black Adam actor’s feud with Rhodes and Rollins intensified, the latter’s wife, Becky Lynch got involved as well, as Johnson took a dig at The Architect calling his wife a bigger star than him. While at first, it merely sounded like hollow words to demean the World Heavyweight Champion. However, today’s episode of Raw showcases how The Great One was right.

Fans were shocked when they saw Nia Jax enter the 2023 Royal Rumble. This appearance came after “The Irresistible Force” was cut from the roster in November 2021. She would end up making a full-time return to the company under the full creative direction of Paul “Triple H” Levesque later in that year. Now as we approach another Royal Rumble, memories of that night flood back for the imposing Raw superstar. Coming off the heels of a big win over rival Becky Lynch, Jax is eyeing Rhea Ripley’s Raw women’s championship. And a win in the 30-women over-the-top battle royal would certainly solidify that. Here Jax opens up about coming back to WWE and things are different the second time around. How do you look back at that Rumble surprise now a year later? Nia Jax: It was more of a maybe, maybe not. If I would. Then I did.

With a new aggression and cunning streak, Drew McIntyre battled Sami Zayn in an electric opening contest. Zayn appeared to have suffered an injury after limping gingerly on his leg, and McIntyre relentlessly hit Zayn with spinebusters and powerbombs. With Zayn unable to stand on his injured leg, McIntyre leveled Zayn with a blow to the back of the knee before blasting Zayn with the Claymore to pick up the victory.

Match #1: No. 1 Contenders Tag Team Turmoil – Winners: The Creed Brothers The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
#DIY def. Alpha Academy – Otis and Akira Tozawa teamed for the first time as Alpha Academy got Tag Team Turmoil underway against Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. #DIY def. Indus Sher – Indus Sher emerged next to face #DIY, with Sanga and Veer making an immediate impact by driving Gargano and Ciampa into the ring post. Gargano was able to stun Veer with a rollup to keep rolling in Tag Team Turmoil.

Welcome to this review of WWE Crown Jewel 2022, right here on Nerdly… The controversy over this event seems to die down with each and every event passing and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Match #1: WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Seth “Freakin” Rollins def. Drew McIntyre The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The WWE World Heavyweight Title remains with Seth “Freakin” Rollins but not before an absolute war with Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior looked poise to destroy and dethrone Rollins, and after a plethora of Pedigrees, stomps, and Claymores, the champion dug deep and put his most dangerous challenger down for the count by ducking a Claymore and connecting with another Pedigree and a second ring-rattling stomp. For months now, we've been seeing paparazzi photos of Zac Efron looking extremely beefy with a silly haircut, and hearing reports about "The Bear" star Jeremy Allen White's "gross" diet in preparation for the new A24 film, "The Iron Claw." For outsiders looking in, "The Iron Claw" looks like a wrestling drama, and many are thrilled to see the pair of actors step into the squared circle of muscle ballet. However, the average Joe's opinion of wrestling is rooted in the heyday of Hulkamania, the Attitude Era of the late '90s, or through crossover stars who have since become actors. Here's the thing: It's really cool that Allen and Efron are going to be in a wrestling movie, but if you're anticipating something like the extremely fun "Fighting With My Family" starring Florence Pugh or the deeply moving biopic "Cassandro" starring Gael García Bernal ... you're in for a hell of a rude awakening.

Match #1: Viking Rules Match – Ivar def. Kofi Kingston The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The New Day’s Kofi Kingston did his best to bring his Power of Positivity to combat all the carnage and mayhem of a Viking Rules Match, but the Viking Rules specialist Ivar came out on top. With Viking shields, flags, tables and more used in the melee, Kingston launched the Viking Raider through the table after he grabbed his beard. With the match breaking down, Valhalla leaped onto Kingston until Xavier Woods came down to make the save. Despite this, Woods got squished by an Ivar splash onto the barricade. Back in the ring, Ivar intercepted a Trouble in Paradise to send Kingston crashing through the table.

Tommaso Ciampa took the next step in facing Intercontinental Champion Gunther as he defeated Ludwig Kaiser. Could it be time to reactivate Brie Mode?! We certainly hope so! In this clip from Wednesday's all-new Total Divas, Brie Bella gets back in the practice ring for the first time since giving birth to Birdie. I’ve been playing WWE video games all my life – from the early days of the Nes and the likes of Wrestlemania Challenge, through a myriad of consoles and handhelds, to as recently as WWE 2K16 on the PS4; and in that time the games have changed a Lot. So, after decades of change, why now does it feel like the WWE video game franchise is becoming stale?
Of course it might just be me… You see I have a love/hate relationship with the WWE games, I love playing them but hate losing – and towards the end of my time with WWE 2K16 I felt like I was losing more than winning. Selfish I know but those are the breaks! It’s the same reason why, I feel, that with the modern WWE video games it’s best, generally, to skip a release or two and come back to...
