Immensely Uplifting

Warning: Spoilers
***SLIGHT SPOILER*** I like a previous viewer saw the movie around 1958 ('57), but it was shown by WGN in Chicago. They showed it yearly around Thanksgiving or Christmas every year for several years. Each holiday season, I awaited with great anticipation for this movie. The first time I saw it it brought tears to my eyes (hard to do for a boy of 10). I've been married now for 33 years and have been wanting to have my wife and children/grandchildren to see it. I will soon have the opportunity to do so for I have just acquired the newly mastered version.

It appeals to the pure in heart, compassion, loving and tenderness in all of us. At the end of the movie when Marcelino leaves us, I was met with sadness, but I understood that his love and desire was to be with Christ and this was Christ's gift to him.

Simply beautiful. Count on foreigners to make such a wonderful movie.
