The whole plot of this film seems to be this: "Let's put a guy in a preposterous situation, and then try to make it as convoluted, dumb and idiotic as possible." So Jody ends up sleeping in the bed of a well-respected congressman who's up for reelection. Ann-Margaret's acting was much better in Viva Las Vegas, Bye Bye Birdie and State Fair (all of which date from around the same time.) It's hard to play the sexy psycho; pretty much everyone botches it up. John Forsythe, fresh off of the series Bachelor Father, acts more like Blake Carrington here. Personally, I would have cut my losses in the beginning and called the police rather than go through this whole mess. There's not much to endear you to his character except the preposterous situation he's been put into. I ended up not caring about him and when the others threatened his life, I was hoping they'd slash his throat.
