If there is only 1 animation that you ever see. This is the one. This anime has everything, ranging from dogfights, romance, creation of AI and the soul, really really great music, great computer graphics.
The artwork is superior, drawn in a way that reflects a more modern style of animation. The robot design is great, perfect mecha dogfighting, however, the movie is not just about fighting robots so that all people can enjoy this movie.
Although the two main characters are a bit unoriginal, they are lovable and make u want to cheer for them. They are very human and each has flaws.
The climax of this animation puts the audience in a total trance like state, hypnotizing as any movie can ever become.
The movie deals with issues like the soul, and questions philosophy but doesn't allow itself to get too creepy or too involved, provides all this and can captivate the audience at the same time.
