Super Mario Bros. 2 (1988 Video Game)
9/10
Not the best Mario, but still good.
8 July 1999
I commented on the other Super Mario Bros. 2 from 1986. That was the japanese version. This one released in 1988 is the game sequel released in the US and across the world. For reasons I don't have any knowledge of, the gameplay in this game is quite different from the other Mario games.

This game takes Mario, Luigi, Toad and the Princess into Subcon. A world of dreams that is under Wart's control. They must liberate it by travelling through 20 areas across 7 dangerous worlds.

This was the least good of the Super Mario series. I can't say it's bad, because I like playing it. This is the second toughest Mario game, behind only the japanese Super Mario Bros. 2. However, I managed to beat it too. Good game. Even with the different gameplay. The idea of throwing plants into bad guys is very good. There were many different bosses in this game: Tryclyde, Fryguy, Clawgrip, Ostro, Mouser and Wart himself.

I couldn't believe it when I finished it. Worth playing, even if all the other Mario games are far superior than this one. Good job Nintendo.
