One of the worst movies I've seen
14 February 2004
Eight Crazy Nights seems like Adam Sandler's version of a holiday X-mas special. Unfortunately, it comes off as too much of that. Channukah is treated as just the "Jewish X-mas," without anything unique. Towards the beginning, the coach of a losing basketball team comments that at least it was the first night of Channukah, so the kids would get presents, as if that is all there is for the holiday. Aside from gifts, the holiday isn't really commented on at all. In addition to that, the jokes are even cruder than in other Sandler movies (such as when one of the characters was pushed into a port-o-john and comes out covered in filth). I couldn't find a single redeeming point to this movie.
