Review of People I Know

People I Know (2002)
7/10
For Pacino fans only
28 October 2003
"People I Know" is all about Al Pacino as an aging, pill popping, has-been Manhattan publicist on the verge of burnout who wants to recapture some of his youthful idealism by putting together a last blast benefit while unwittingly being undermined by insidious forces. A solid character study in a New York state of mind, this film offers a good cast and a meager story which gets buried in nonstop dialogue most of which is delivered by Pacino. A must see for Pacino fans and a mediocre watch for all others. (B-)
