Curtis (2004)
10/10
Powerful, beautiful presentation of living fully with AIDS
14 January 2004
I have seen this film several times, including its premiere screening at which Curtis' family and friends were in attendance. THEIR response was quite moving. This film had captured the quirky, gentle, creative, beautiful, humorous, fighting spirit of their dear Curtis. At all showings, the film commanded the audience's rapt attention and complete silence.

This film is not just about AIDS, but about living fully, beautifully, creatively, consciously, while a terminal disease is ravaging one's body.

The producer/director should be commended for his sensitive interactions with Curtis, his friends, and the hospital staff; the editor for his wise selections and presentation of 34 minutes from over 50 hours of footage.
