Enjoyable, fun, but not the best

Warning: Spoilers
*Light Spoilers* ROTS has the best title, action, and "story" of the new trilogy that the first two lacked. i must say, i really gave into this hype big time and even dressed up for opening night. afterwords, well, i was satisfied, confused, and a bit sad.

i am a big star wars fan: i play the games and read the books, but i never go to the point to make it my life. what separates me from the geekdom is the fact that i can still point out crap characters, lines, and plot twists rather than be a die hard fan that thinks everything is wonderful just because its in this genre. in saying that, i really was satisfied with the great musical score, the top notch action, some of the humor, and watching how anakin succumbed. i felt it tied in nicely to how Luke felt good in him still. Despite the little "noooooo!" chant at the end giving me a chuckle, it did its job in showing that, even after doning his mask and suit, he still had some compassion at that point. still, it was a stupid stereotypical line to give him.

the confusion comes in with grievous. OK, he was interesting and all, BUT WHERE THE HELL DID HE COME FROM??? i didn't watch enough of that clone wars cartoon, though i did see him in one episode when Anakin was knighted. regardless, let's stick to the movies! lucas, we need origins from you, not from others! two other things that confused me was how obi-wan merely took anakin's lightsaber and in episode IV he told Luke his father wanted him to have it. well, the easiest assumption to make is that obi-wan made that up because he wasn't ready to tell Luke he was his father. OK, that works. then comes the line in return of the jedi. Luke asks leia about her mother and leia said she was very beautiful, but sad. she died when i was very young. but, wait! didn't padme die giving birth?? the less logical way of saying it is that bail organa told her that when she got older. still, its kind of shaky and confusing. i don't want to make assumptions, i want to know. i mean, come on, this movie franchise is a big deal here! finally, i am sad. its all over (but i guess in the future, someone will pick up and either do some cheesy ass re-make of the trilogies or maybe even make the books into movies since a lot of people are taking classic movies like bullitt, the house of wax, etc, and butchering them). i am also sad that the new trilogy had to mainly suck so bad. god, Liam Neelson is such a great actor, but Qui-Gon Jinn was so boring and dull! Hayden Christensen (or whatever) had such a terrible cock to his head in episode 2 and the cheesiest pick up lines in the world! Natalie Portman is a great actor, but her chemistry with Hayden was absolutely awful! at least Iam Macdirmid did a fantastic job as Palpatine. he really played the deceptive role of the chancellor so well.

all in all, ROTS is a great ride, but flawed with some bumps. the dialogue is still mediocre, the action is still top notch, the story is confusing, but fun, and the lightsaber duel at the end was filled with grief and terror. the best part of the whole movie: jar jar had no lines! good try, Lucas, you redeemed yourself quite a bit in my eyes.

on a different note, i hope KOTOR III will be made
