The Thing (1982)
7/10
Good Movie

A very good thriller; gory but effective. The atmosphere of creepy revulsion and panic is conveyed very well.

To me, the best line in the movie is delivered by Donald Moffat (as Garry), at the conclusion of the "blood test": "I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS F***ING COUCH" A line delivered beautifully by the beleaguered and terrified character.

Kurt Russell is good, however the "rebel without a clue" bit may be a little overdone (ditch the yosemite sam hat already...) Well-acted and terrifying, an effective movie.
