The Ring Two (2005)
3/10
It's okay to view once or twice.

Warning: Spoilers
When I first heard about a sequel to "The Ring," I was optimistic that it would surpass the original. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Take in mind that this sequel came out after Scary Movie 3 - which parodies scenes from THE RING. The Ring 2 had a lot of scenes that looked too abstract and corny--they looked as though they belonged in Scary Movie 3.

I'm not going to say all of it was bad. I enjoyed the cameos by Elizabeth Perkins and Sissie Spacek (CARRIE). The new possible love interest for Naomi Watts in this sequel was pretty boring. I don't think many fans cared whether he lived or died.

The "Aiden" character rans his course in this sequel. It was bad enough that he was in the first film--trying to make him like Halie Joel Osment in "The Sixth Sense." That part was lame. In THE RING 2, it is even worse. If I had been a character in this film, I probably would have yelled at the kid for being so damn rude to his mother. Maybe it wasn't the character--it was probably David Dorfman--who tries to sound like a grownup in the movie, and in real life. If you've ever seen THE RING 2 DVD, you will know what I'm talking about.

One thing about the DVD that is enjoyable is the short film "Rings." It's a story that happens after the first film and before the second film. It involves the character that is seen at the beginning of the second.

To sum up, it's a decent film. But, it is not nearly as good as the original. I did, however, (SPOILER ALERT) like the ending in part 2. It is a much happier ending.
