The late great Kathleen Freeman
30 May 2006
I remember this episode. It stood out because of the wonderful performance of the late great Kathleen Freeman. She practically stole the show as the wife of the motel owner where Rob and Laura spend their honeymoon. She repeatedly refers to her husband as "stupid fool". The line that really brought down the house was when she says "all I ever hear from him is you're beautiful, you're beautiful. She was never beautiful but talented and had real comic timing. Kathleen Freeman had a long career on stage, screen, and television. She is remembered for small parts that stood out. From the mother superior on Golden Girls, another nun "the Penguin" in Blues Bros, to an unforgettable part in Dragnet "'Bout time you pencil-dicks showed up. Why couldn't you have gotten here before that big bad stupid-looking piece of sewage breath stole my white wedding dress?"
