Great tour in the Wilderness of Canada
1 June 2006
Lars Monsen is one of Norways greatest explorers concerning wildlife and nature in all. He has completed several expeditions through Norway, Alaska and of course Across Canada (first man ever!). 947 days from Kaktovik to Goose Bay - 8252 km on foot, dog-sled, Kano or skies. For those of you who appreciate the wilderness, beautiful shots of nature at its most preserved, wild animals of all sorts, life-threatening situations 150km from any civilization - all of the aspects (and much much more) of a long, hard and wonderful trip through mother nature: this is a must-see! And I kid you not; you will be impressed by Monsen and by the nature itself, you will learn about the history of different parts of Canada and the people there, and you can at times feel the warmth of the campfire in your face, or the breath of the black bear in your neck. And I must include the fact that Monsen himself is a funny guy, and his dogs make you laugh your head off at times. So, a great documentary for the wild-lifer, the dreaming-to-be-wild-lifer, the guy who is comfortable in his chair in front of the TV but who wishes to experience the whole thing anyway - thrills, laughs, awe, cries - I certainly recommend it!
