A whimsical journey into a absurdly funny little place called, Happy Kingdom
4 June 2006
This show is absurdly funny, and the comic timing is reminiscent of the good ol'Tex Avery/ Chuck Jones era. Although slated as a kids show, like all great animations, there are various levels of comedy sure to delight all ages. Borrowed from your neighbourhood Sushi menu, most of the characters are named after various food and drink products from Japan. There are Yamroll's buddies, Edamame, Ebi, and Tamago who are the cause of most of Yamroll's misadventures, there's also Sake, Spicey Tuna Roll, and Tako. There are countless numbers of memorable characters that are worthy of their own shows... like Tiny Pillow Guy! But the main storyline revolves around our hero Yammie, winning the affection of the beautiful Minamiko. Okay fine, Minamiko is more of a pain in the butt than anything... but love is love, so who am I to judge?

If you liked Ren and Stimpy, Sponge Bob or any of the old Warner Bros. stuff, you'll like Yamroll. Some people tell me they don't get it... I tell them they aren't funny people.
