Hellsing Ultimate (2006–2012)
8/10
Interesting new series for fans of Hellsing or general awesomeness

Warning: Spoilers
For fans of the original 13 episode series, the new Hellsing OVA represents a great opportunity to put right what was once wrong. Devotees will recall that the original series ran out of funding, resulting in a terrible last few episodes. The new OVA series certainly rectifies that, if we can judge from the first episode: the animation is gorgeous, and the pacing/story is much more true to the manga (if that's important to you, i don't care personally). Another feather in the cap of the OVA is the return of all the great voice actors that made the original so awesome despite its flaws. So what is it missing? A little of the charm, a little of the character development that the slower paced version had, and the music. No more great opening theme song, no more clunky piano that was so appropriate to Hellsing. Still, definitely worth watching, if only for the fight between Hellsing and Anderson and to see Seras Victoria be a bit darker than her cutesy TV version
