An Orphan's Tale (1981– )
10/10
A classic tale, a heartwarming performance, a keeper

Warning: Spoilers
Fabulous movie series which, without giving away a spoiler, tells the tale of an almost 12 year old orphan boy(Remy)whose life is changed when he is sold to a travelling one man circus master. His journey and travails are dramatically portrayed by a young Fabrice Josso (with an excellent English voice-over in the version I watched). Josso has gone on to have a long career in film and television, but it is hard to believe that he ever gave a better performance. He brings the viewer inside his troubled world, and one has to feel empathy with the boy as he faces his many challenges with a brave spirit and a good heart. There are shades of Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, and A Dog of Flanders in this series, and it is a classic to be cherished alongside those more famous productions.
