The fantastic feelings of Tauno and Ansa
13 August 2007
Kulkurin valssi (1941) has Tauno Palo as Arnold the baron becoming a vagabond. It also has Ansa Ikonen as the beautiful Helena who becomes the love interest of Arnold.Any old Finnish movie that has those two can't fail.Heck, their presence would save many movies today! This T.J. Särkkä's movie is based on Mika Waltari's text.Besides Tauno and Ansa there's Regina Linnanheimo playing Rosinka, gypsy girl.Tauno Palo was also known from his great singing voice, so it makes the movie experience even better listening to him singing Kulkurin valssi. Many people saw this romantic gem when it was at the cinema. It wasn't until Tuntematon sotilas (1955) went ahead. Both true classics of Finnish cinema.Kulkurin valssi offers some grand feelings from the time long gone.
