Reason for the Disclaimer
4 February 2008
The reason that ABC put the disclaimer in the program is because the American Academy of Pediatricians contacted them with strenuous objections to the premise that vaccines cause autism. They wanted them to pull the episode, claiming that it was essentially a myth unproven by research or anything more than assumptions by people looking for an explanation for autism. If you want to read the op-ed piece explaining it, here is a link.

That being said, the show itself seems to be working too hard to be special and quirky. Special and quirky only work when it looks organic, not contrived. However, Miller is charming and I like the doctor pal an the acupuncturist. It is always nice to see Victor Garber and Natasha Henstridge is under-rated. Loretta Devine takes a cliché role and makes it entirely credible.

However, the best bit was having George Michael appearing and singing "Faith" gimmicky, but I always that song and the singer - his personal issues aside.
