True Role Model to Minority filmmakers in the UK
11 August 2008
Ahmad is an inspiration to all Minortiy film makers in the UK. He helped change policy within the short films category in Bafta.

Bafta vs Diverse shorts.

27 OCT 2007 Aneel Ahmad wrote an email to the British Academy Awards in promoting more Diversity within the Short Film Section at the BAFTA's AWARDS The Academy has listened to Aneel and have now added and promoted 2 Major Minority Festivals which now gives qualifications (For the BAFTA's) to Films that only attract and are limited to a minority audience.

BAFTA Rulings below – ALL films submitted for the Short Film Award must have been either screened at or accepted into one of the Academy's recognised festivals. Proof of festival screening or acceptance must be included with your application. This list is for guidance only; if your film has been screened at a festival that is not included on this list, it may still be accepted, at the discretion of the Academy's Film Committee.

These festivals should be allowed to nominated the Best in their Category - The 2 NEW FESTIVALS Now included within the BAFTA short film Category are.

Bite The Mango - (Panel committee) Best British Short film Golden Mango - Qualification for BAFTA (Fest Running over 10 years) BFM - )Panel committee) Winner Best British Short film - Qualification for BAFTA (Fest Running over 10 years) Aneel Ahmad is also a documentary filmmaker and he has also suggested to the Academy last year to Add Best Feature Documentary. In the 70s BAFTA did recognise Documentaries, but later on changed their rulings. The information was posted on his personal email bulletins Database.

Also I saw Boot Polish last year at the Encounters Film Festival, and clearly shows immense talent and flair.

Im looking forward in viewing his first low budget film 'Manchester' which is to be shot late 2008
