good film, whines too much.

My thought on this movie is that it is too complaining. It points out that Hollywood is a business, just like every other business. That means you have to do things you don't want to do, deal with personnel issues and creative problems you'd rather not deal with. Hey, just like every other business in America, quit your belly aching. Most of us don't get such rich rewards.

The main subplot is that you have an artistic film with Sean Penn (playing himself) where the climax involves shooting a dog. (No animals were harmed in the production of this film!) the hero of the film has to balance trying to get the director to produce a more palatable ending against trying to get Bruce Willis to shave his beard to trying to work things out with his two families. If I have a complaint it is that all these subplots are run through at such a manic pace that we have a hard time tracking them all.

Still, DiNiro is solid in the role, as are most of the other characters.
