Leprechaun 3 (1995 Video)
2/10
Dismal 2nd sequel
2 September 2009
I frankly don't understand what happened to this franchise. The was pretty effective. Warwick Davis of WILLOW fame made a distinctive and effective monster. And the cast was up to the job, which is unusual for a cheesy horror film. By the time Part 3 rolled around (does anybody even remember Part 2?), the series had gone limp. Even Davis' constant wisecracks and sadistic murders fell flat. There was no sense of danger or scares as the little man slays them left and right in Las Vegas over a missing coin. Maybe it was the setting. Las Vegas has never been much of a setting for a movie. Too artificial,. A later sequel set in outer space had a little more going for it. But this series simply did not hold up to its early promise. Lazy movie-making is probably the primary reason.
