Irina Derevko surrenders herself to the CIA, and agrees to cooperate, but only if they let her talk to her daughter. Sydney is not too thrilled about that prospect, but after a clue Irina had indirectly given to her about one of her missions proves to be correct, she changes her mind. What she learns from their first meeting is a name - the name of a man that Sloane plans to personally blackmail! (SD-6 has no idea what's going on with Irina, they think she's out hiding somewhere). Lena Olin finally gets enough screen time to make a strong impression, and she's perfectly enigmatic and ambiguous: her "Mona Lisa smile" at the end is the best moment of this episode. The brilliant Terry O'Quinn also returns as the FBI Assistant Director who is now working with the CIA; there are not many actors around who could do as much as O'Quinn does with a fairly standard role. I also liked the dark sense of humor in this episode, particularly in some of Sloane's lines: "Think about it....where could it be?". *** out of 4.
