Often, women of a certain age, or with low self-esteem, wish to be romanced by guys that wouldn't look at them in real life. They end up reading novels that cater to their imaginations. Such is the case of Martha Puck, an overweight lady that one day decides to go into a dating service to find a man. It is clear that these places are a magnet for predators trying to make a killing by stealing what they can from these vulnerable souls.

When Martha receives a video from Ramon Delgado, a handsome Latin man, she is static. Going against her better judgment, Martha begins to see Ramon. She discovers one day Ramon is stealing her television set. That's a little too low for her. Before that, she had encountered a woman that tells her she is making a serious mistake by seeing Ramon. Martha, who is about to see Ramon goes out of her life, decides to go into a partnership with him. They'll entice lonely women with the promise Ramon will marry them, not before getting these naive ladies to turn over all their money to Ramon. Martha, in turn, will be the killer of the unsuspecting women.

The Cold Case detectives decide to make an investigation when new evidence comes into their unit about the murder of Martha Puck, some years before. They will get lucky in tracking down the real killer, who had a good reason for not only killing Ramon, but also getting rid of Martha Puck.

Liz Garcia, a frequent contributor to the series, gets her inspiration in the famous case of notorious killers of the last century. In fact, not much imagination is shown, as Ms. Garcia give names to the killing couple, similar to the real ones. John Peters directed. Emily Nelson and Bruno Campos appear as the ill fated criminals. Mary Pat Green plays Eugenia, a victim that lost everything because of Ramon's scheme. She is the key for solving the case.

In this chapter Nick Vera, gets involved with a teen neighbor that doesn't let him sleep because he decides to practice basketball right outside his basement apartment.
