Where's the punchline?
25 October 2010
I had reasonable expectations for this film to live up to it's reviews. Unfortunately it was a sheer disappointment, and the only time I enjoyed this benign crap fest was when I couldn't make out whether I was supposed to laugh or shut my eyes and dive for my blankets. There is nothing remotely serious about this film, I have no idea if that was the intentions of the filmmaker, and perhaps I need to see some of his earlier projects to fully grasp the taste of this one, but I shouldn't have to in order for the film to be relatable.

One thing which I thought flawed this movie incredibly well, was the relationships with the characters. There was no relationship, there was just a room full of actors pretending to be believable, they weren't feeling it and neither was I. I felt like I was watching a school project, it was cast badly, the script was tedious and dense. I felt as though I was watching another remake of the old classics, and unfortunately, I was, there isn't a thing special about Drag Me to Hell, it was simply a thoughtless creation, and a fun deprived ride.
