Warning: Spoilers
Brennan and Angela discover the mummified corpse of a dead Deejay, asphyxiated with Meth and hit across the skull with some sort of blunt object. This leads Booth and Brennan their investigation into the hip hop world as its possible that the one responsible could've been a record producer(who owns the club where the body was found), a rival with a newly built studio(where a body is found buried under a cement floor), and a girlfriend who is missing. Bokeem Woodbine and Morris Chestnut both have supporting parts as club owner and security respectively(Chestnut is actually an undercover agent and has a nice exchange with Booth over how to keep his role intact without giving away his disguise). Booth's relationship with Tessa takes a turn for the worse when a plan to go on vacation to Costa Rica is disrupted when she gets cold feet at the possibility of "moving to the next level", her commitment not a strong as Seeley's. This episode includes a touching scene where the murdered deejay's father visits Booth in his office over the importance of cleansing the victim's soiled name in the press and Brennan establishes that she enjoys hip hop music. Her scene at the beginning describing African American music in tribal terms and the high to a shower of Meth which goes up when the burial wall is kicked in are amusing moments which break the ice because this is ultimately a tragic story of denied love and a potential successful future squandered.
