Bones:Two Bodies in the Lab
7 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
There's that pivotal episode in a series where you know that a show is here to stay. We've seen the evolution in the relationship of Bones and Booth and when her life is threatened by a drive-by, their partnership moves to another level. Booth insists on watching after Bones until she solves the homicide of a mob kingpin which could be related to another mob family, the Romanos. Adam Baldwin guest stars as an FBI agent assigned to help Booth and Brennan due to his undercover work inside the Romano crime family. As the case progresses, Booth believes Bones life could be in danger due to a new type of forensic experiment Brennan has invented which could actually tie bullet markings to the holes in bone. Meanwhile Booth and Bones begin working on a case concurrent to the mob one(Baldwin's agent Kenton is to work with the Jeffersonian team on it) regarding a poor girl whose eyes were gouged out with something containing a certain kind of ridges. This case is eerily similar to one from Booth's past regarding a psychopath he couldn't uncover enough evidence to convict, Hollings(Greg Ellis). The girl was left to be eaten by a pack of starving dogs who were attracted to the scent of her blood opened by a gash used from a specific kind of knife. This episode features an explosion ignited from Brennan's refrigerator which nearly kills Booth. It also has a twist(I think, though, that some viewers will see it coming) with an interesting sense of irony in that Booth, in an act to protect Bones, accidentally puts her in harm's way when he has her stay with someone who could actually be using a frame-up to cover his tracks!
