What is with many people saying this movie is bad..? Did they expect the work of Stanley Kubrick in this film and watch it..? This movie is not brain-candy.
Well, this movie is not really so bad. It is just simple. The story is about two women, one pregnant and one aborted. Why they fight over the new-born is revealed in the climax. The story is simple, I admit. But the scenes that build the emotion and even the actresses who did a pretty good job add up a lot to the movie watching experience.
Fine. Now the effects, the gore, the horror, the tension, etc.. They are very good. They are pretty realistic. Even the pace builds up in a frightening manner. If you find this effects cheesy, I recommend you to watch some old-school grindhouse trash. You may appreciate visual effects better in that movie than in this one... ;)
Now, to the most important part. The emotion. This movie has its moments. They are not totally tear-jerking, but they make enough sense. They say how a lost affection and the desperation for a new one, can turn a person into a maniac. They actually add to the heart of this film, something that is lacked in nearly every other stupid gory Hollywood crap like SAW (not the first part) or hostel... U name it..
Finally, watch this movie, if you can stomach it. But I say to all the horror film fans, DO WATCH THIS baby without heavy expectations. There is simply no chance that you will be disappointed.
