I'll keep it simple: the money spent on this should have gone towards a commercial for the Iowa museum, and if any money was left over, donated to the museum.
Having served, some things in a military based movie really irritate me:
aircraft changing types from one scene to the next...or, as here, from cut to cut.
when an actor portraying somebody from an elite unit hasn't been coached on how to clear a room, or even hold a weapon. Even video games get it right these days!
speaking of games, the old "Fleet Commander" had better VFX than the ones in this film.
Other things just irritate: let's have the Iowa (Galactica) be immune to the aliens (Cylons) because it is an old ship that's being turned into a museum and doesn't have modern equipment.
Mr. Weathers and Mr. Van Peebles: seriously? You guys were in "Rocky" and "Heartbreak Ridge.". Are things that bad you stooped to *this*?
I just hope this was one big practical joke....and based on the line, "You don't get to sink my battleship" it might have been.
