This is your film reporter Cynthia Host to review the world premiere of this classic film ,"This is Cinerama, On d.v.d and blue ray.It's wonderful.Better than it was first released and probably better on d.v.d and Blu ray than the current one playing right now at the pacific Cinerama,in Hollywood at Sunset blvd.Since on d.v.d and Blu ray films are going to be enhanced more than the projected version.Now I got a d.v.d player ,so i didn't play the blue ray version.) region d.v.d and a.b.c. for blue ray.This is one of the few democratic DVDs and blur rays too,since most corporation are greedy and put pal versus n.t.c.s or a versus c versus b.The smile box was really effective .I was watching it on my 22 inch flat computer screen with my three speakers and amplifier stereo sound.The fourth speaker has been broken.The smile box was just as effective,as the ultra vision theater screen of the old Montgomery mall theater.A chain of theaters in the early 70's had Cinerama screen for 70 mm plays ,plus the ability to show 35 mm Panavison film on the whole screen effectively.Seeing this ,in smile box ,was as effective as I remember seeing,at that theater D.r. Zhivago,the 70 mm print version of How the west was won, Paint your wagon, On a clear day you can see forever,ever ! ever ever !It was like sitting in the back seat of the Montgomery mall theater and my visit too Hollywood, at the real pacific Cinerama, saw that Kung Fu film in 2004.When I went back in 2006, I saw that war film produced by Clint Eastwood, they were 35MM blow ups they were effective.This d.v.d version ,they used the Cinerama dome,of Hollywood as the insertion of this is Cinerama.The sound was excellent too.Seeing those rugged mountains ,like grand canyon,just made me dizzy.But the clarity of the Restoration .it was effective.The Vienna boy choir to cypress garden , there was one of the southern bell actress in the park,Who arrived late and missed being a part of the water ski show in Cyprus garden.That was one of the showcase in human characters .It was restored by a surviving 65 mm print that was used in the sorry reissue in 72 73 that never came to the Montgomery mall ultra vision theater .I'm sure new separate prints were extracted from this print for the celebration at Hollywood in the Cinerama dome ,going on right now.Although I got my Pre order .You will have to pay an extra 10 for now buying .It has extras too Fred Waller being interview on radio in New York and long island.Very sadly the original revival of Cinerama at Dayton Ohio,did not last long.The expense .It's now two auditorium theater.They talk about the Cooper, which opened in 1961.The only surviving is the pacific dome in Hollywood and the Seattle Cinerama It's still playing for 70MM and three strip revivals.This is an excellent d.v.d I don't know about the Blu ray.I don't have a machine yet?
