When it comes to Dexter as a television series, I always expect it to be captivating and brilliant. Season 6 didn't do that for me, but Season 7 has gone beyond my expectations. For me, it almost felt like the second part of the Season is over, here is my logic: Episodes 1-4 were exploring Deborah's new discovery as well as introducing new characters and more. Episodes 5-8 are all about character development (hence being the second part). And the third part should be all about making a endgame for Season 8.
This episode struck me in many ways, when I first started watching it I felt as if it was a bit boring and dull, but after the first 15 minutes everything became more heated and much more interesting for the viewer. I mean we had LaGuerta digging into Dexter's past as well as Deborah's feelings for Dexter. We also has Isaak, the Koshkas, and the Quinn and Nadia storyline which are turning out to be very interesting as we begin the endgame of the season. We even had Cody and Astor return for the episode, which turned out to be a storyline that worked well with what was going on at the time with Dexter's situation.
This episode, titled "Argentina", is all about Dexter finding the place he calls home, or his Argentina. It's all about the truth as that is what this episodes theme was. It really well written, but what really had my breath taken was the ending. It was very emotional, the music and the voice-over were really beautiful and the way it came together was very brilliant.
Overall, this is my second favorite episode of the Season next to Episode 4 Run. I loved everything about it. Even though it wasn't the edge of your seat stuff we saw in Season 4, but this episode was a dramatic emotional roller coaster. When Debra told Dexter her true feelings I couldn't believe it, it was a twist for the episode as I thought those feelings would never return. Well as least this season they are handling it in an appropriate manner.
