Nice comedy of the thirties
10 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Actress Anna Nagel usually had secondary parts in bigger studios, like the Technicolor short she did for Warner brother in 1936.But she was really good as the hoy-tee - toy-tee frustrated bride to be .Henry Mollison, who ever heard of him? is the groom that never shows up.Warren Hull plays her Lawyer who agree with her about replacing the other for a substitute. The scene in the train in which Ann states that its a put on and she' ll divorce him later ,but,he doesn't like that cause he's been in love with her a long time.I think this might of been ,may be ,shot in Hawaii, in the garden party sequence host By Henry old Girl friend ,played by the the queen of early and odd color process Claudia Dell, the music is played by an Hawaii band. Now this comedy was produced by Monogram, noted for their medium and low budget films. But for a poverty row studio this film is not bad. This film is equivalent to the films that were produced for Grand National.Claudia Dell is excellent as Warren old girl friend with a high society name Helen van Order. The only problem really is Helens father .It seem like the actor doesn't know what to do .His character was not written enough. But it was still a good comedy classic of the thirties 06/11/13
