Things you do for love
16 June 2013
There are two scenes in this episode that I've found by far the best of this season, probably of the whole series. I've always cringed about the idea of Debra being in love with Dexter. It just seems too far fetched to me. Until now. Performance of Jennifer Carpenter in this scene was just absolutely outstanding. I just feel the pain she feels, the confusion, the rage. All of it, she delivered this in such a believable way, that it just didn't feel wrong or weird anymore. I was just watching her with my mouth open. For this scene only Jennifer deserves an Emmy.

Second thing was the scene between Dexter and Isaak. My god, this man is, hands down, my favorite bad guy in Dexter. He is such a complex character. He always was such a bad ass and cool motherf*cker but in the scene in the bar you will find out the whole motivation behind his retribution. I was quite surprised actually, but it all makes real sense. Acting from Ray Stevenson was flawless, real standing ovation here as well.

The whole design of this episode was love. Thing people do for love. It was the main concept and it was really beautifully done. I almost lost interest in this series but this episode showed me that I shouldn't give up so easily.
