Let Me Explain maybe only an hour and some change, but once you get past Kevin's ego, it is definitely worth the trip and ticket price.

Warning: Spoilers
Now, like most people, I like Kevin Hart. He is funny, replaces the AWOL Katt Williams, and is likable during his stand up. However, one thing I can't stand is the Kevin Hart we see off stage when he plays up his sudden celebrity and starts acting pompous like he does on Real Husbands of Hollywood.

With that said, unfortunately you get to see that Kevin for at least 10 or more minutes in the beginning of the movie and though others may find him being like an entitled child funny, I found myself waiting to laugh. Luckily though, after a bit of vanity by him proving himself as a successful comedian by showing how he had sold out shows throughout Europe, and after getting his usual comeuppance after his ego got too big, we finally start the damn comedy program.

Now, in the show he goes over a variety of topics, both for jokes and to explain some things about his life. He talks about his divorce, including the cheating and lying he did; Him being a liar in general, a bad one at that; Trust issues in a relationship; The single life; having kids, much less knowing they may one day have a step dad; his interactions with his son; and lastly a joke dealing with bums.

For me, once the actual stand up comedy came into play, I found it hard to stop laughing. Within about a hour or 45 minutes, of which is the actual stand up, I laughed a counted 41 times. Thing is, depending on what type of comedy you like, there maybe more opportunities to laugh, but some of what he said I either couldn't get or simply wasn't my type of comedy. Also, I was thankful that his best bits weren't what we saw on the trailer. Often times in movie the best stuff is used for the trailer and then you are just waiting for those moments while everything else is just bleh. Luckily though, many of his jokes will make you laugh out loud and even trying to hold back the sound of your laugh is futile. For a few moments in particular, I found myself in a slight bit of pain from laughing a little too hard.

With that said however, I am not a fan of his prologue to the stand up. Entering in the theater, you already know who Kevin Hart is and him trying to prove how famous he is seemed like a waste of time. Add onto that, him being the egotistical Kevin Hart who has constant meltdowns, and I felt that the whole skit/ segment should have been cut for it really did nothing for the film. It really made me wish comedians nowadays would follow the Eddie Murphy example, i.e. Raw, and just show them go to the venue and do the damn performance. Outside of that though, I had just about no issues.

Overall: Go See It Though the first 10-15 minutes seem like a real waste of time, there are jokes in there which people around me did laugh at. But, once the stand up starts you will be laughing and getting mad that someone is laughing loud as hell, and clapping, in your ear. Still, considering the movie is only a little bit past an hour and packs a lot of laughs, consider this movie a good pick me up if the year so far has been stressful.
