Charlton Heston stars in this action drama as Christopher Leiningin, a wealthy South American Plantation owner who has sent away for a mail order bride(played by Eleanor Parker) When she arrives, he is angered to learn that she had been married before(he wants an untouched woman...) The woman(named Joanna) is determined to stay though, and soon Christopher will have far more pressing issues to worry about, namely a swath of destructive army ants are on the march, and headed for his plantation, which would wipe him out. Desperate, they evacuate, but he has one risky plan to defeat this threat, assuming they can survive the trip to get there... Exciting film with harrowing scenes of ant destruction that hold up well today, no CGI required!
