Super Mario 64 (1996 Video Game)
10/10
Nostalgic 3D Mario game

"Super Mario 64" is a Nintendo 64 game which was released in 1996. This is the second game I've got for this console, the first one was "Pilotwings 64".

Basic plot: Mario gets a letter from Princess Peach about to come and have some cake with her. A Lakitu arrives outside Peach's castle to follow Mario with a camera, and then Mario gets to know from one of the Toads that Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser. So Mario has to jump through several paintings to do several missions, and get enough power stars in order to defeat Bowser.

Of all 120 stars to collect in order to 100% complete the game, 15 hidden stars can also be found throughout this game. The idea to collect stars also seems to having gotten used in later games like "Super Mario Sunshine" for Gamecube, and the two "Super Mario Galaxy" games for Nintendo Wii.

Of all Nintendo 64 games I've been playing, this Mario-game is one of the N64-games which I've been played most. I actually loved the fact Mario could run anywhere in any courses in the game, and can even do long jumps, fly in the air, get invisible and metallic, kick and punch enemies and more, than he could do in most earlier games made for the first Nintendo-consoles. Even the game's graphic itself, thou being dated as it was made in 1996, is actually giving me a nostalgic feeling.

It is also funny about the fact the game seems to be told through Lakitu's point of view, hence the character filming Mario with a camera. I even liked the fact this is the first game in which Princess Peach got to have her real name outside Japan, because in earlier games before the Nintendo 64-period she was named Princess Toadstool in the international version of the earlier Mario-games for the first two Nintendo-consoles.

Due to the game's fun and it's nostalgic feeling, I give this classic Mario-game an overall rating 10/10.
