Condemnation of a Sorority Girl Gone Psycho
25 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
TV's perennial bad girl, Jamie Luner, embarks on her career of portraying vixens after graduating from JUST THE TEN OF US. But this one is a remake, and therefore doomed to failure. A far more fun movie could have been made if they refrained from turning Sabrina into a murderous baseball bat-wielding terror towards the end. The movie is badly constructed. What's with those lines appearing on the screen between jump cuts? Really bothersome! Best thing about it? The leggy poolside scene with Jamie, of course! Hell, you have a pretty actress like that, why go and bother with psychotic stuff? Oh, and Danni Wheeler's sexy pose on the bed with her legs bent back, pretty feet dangling, nice bare soles, yum! But the script- writer had to go and ruin the fun by getting all demented. The earliest sign that the movie is going to disappoint is with the poodle scene at the beginning. (By the way, what's up with all the poodle references in the film? A poodle fetish?) What is shown is pointless. What they should have had was a muddy road, and the corvette splashing mud over both poodle and mistress, Sabrina racing away gleefully, looking for more victims. And the mistreated girls in the movie should have gotten their own back on Sabrina simply by standing together and making a fool of her. A taste of her own medicine. Alyssa Milano gave such a weak performance, though, that it is doubtful this could have been carried off! Look at the box cover of the DVD. It promises to be fun. Remember what a wonderful bad girl Jamie was in SAVANNAH and MELROSE PLACE? So this is why I am so unimpressed with this classic example of a missed opportunity to do something much more worthwhile!
