No Sanctuary was one of those The Walking Dead episodes that is completely awesome. Just like Too Far Gone last Season 4, it never failed to keep me at the edge of my seat and make my heart race like rapid fire. I was not expecting this episode to be that great. The first episodes of each season do not really engage me immediately unlike this one. They cut all the crap and started the action with matching pitch perfect storytelling.
The episode introduces us to what Terminus is all about. Gruesome images being shown back and forth added to the intensity of the episode and indeed did its job to creep me out. The visuals have improved very well if compared to previous seasons. Explosions and gut wrenching scenes looked great on screen. The episode also shows us the changes that Rick and his gang have went through. Rick is not the same calm farmer who would take violence as his last resort. In this one, violence was his key to escape Terminus and to save those he loves the most, his family. However, Carol had a far more unmerciful approach to Terminus. In the episode she is seen doing everything, no matter how cruel or wrong as long as it will be to save Rick and his gang. Just like in Season 4, Carol kicked ass in the episode. She became a strong female character last season and I'm expecting to see more of that this season as well. As for the story and pacing goes in the episode, amazing. I was never bored at any scene in the episode and remained at my seat looking terrified and couldn't even move. This episode had the same impact as Too Far Gone and deserves a spot at one of the best The Walking Dead episodes ever.
