Robert Redford's Great Gatsby was filmed when I was a teenager. For some reason or other I had never seen this film, and so got the Di Caprio's remake. After a few minutes I was wondering "...what is this crap?? They're playing rap!! Rap! 1920s!!" I kept on for about an hour only to find out that this film is in the same exaggerated fragrance as "The Wolf of Wall Street"... well there are lots of people out there who like this absurd, grotesque and more that any other thing UNREAL style. I don't. Needless to say I got the old fashioned version (Redford's one) and although all in all I just did not like the script, I found it far superior.
