I love the original Poltergeist which was released in 1982. This one is just the same, but the scares in different order. Nothing fresh, nothing new. Just some appreciating creepy CGI-effects.
One thing that is definitely missing in this movie is the score by Jerry Goldsmith which kept the original movie to be thrilling. The score in this one doesn't give that much life to the screen.
Otherwise the cast live up to their characters, which is a great thing, but somehow it's not as great as the original.
If you ask me how good this version is compared to the original one, I'd say far from being solid. Not a movie to remember!
