Worthwhile viewing with a debatable ending
8 July 2015
Noah Baumbach's most recent outing sees him tackle the meaning of aging and changing as an adult and how you confront youthful feelings in the present, as well as in the past. This was my first movie from the writer/director and I was really into it for most of its duration. But some plot choices towards the end didn't really bode well with me.

In this movie we are introduced to Josh (Stiller) & Cornelia (Watts), a married couple that sense something missing in their lives. When they meet the young lovers Jamie (Driver) & Darbie (Seyfried), they will embrace live in a different way through these youthful spirits. But soon their age difference and life perspectives will come to the surface and lead to paths they didn't think were possible.

Overall I felt most of the lead actors were fine, except maybe Seyfried, whose character didn't really get as much as attention as the others. The chemistry between them was also believable and made for interesting dialogue. Despite this, Baumbach's script fails to get me at the end, when it chooses a conclusion I wasn't really on board with.

In the end, the movie provided good insight on the subject, if only a questionable ending. So if you're interested in a movie of this type as I was, I recommend a viewing when you have the chance
