Charade (1984)

Fun watch, but once is enough

Warning: Spoilers
This is a 4.5-minute animated short film by John Minnis that won an Academy Award 30 years ago. The title says it all basically already: "Charade". We see two men trying to depict (without words) books, films and television shows and hear how the audience is permanently guessing the secret title. one of the men does a perfect job, but they just won't find the answer, while the other makes just one gesture and they always know it immediately. Funny little watch, but seeing this once is really enough. With the third title, it already began to drag a little but, so it's good that this does not cross the 5-minute mark. Okay watch all in all, not sure if deserving of an Oscar, but then again the 1980s weren't really too great in terms of animation. Recommended.
