I just saw the pilot for this new sci-fi series based on the 2002 Steven Spielberg/Tom Cruise film, which was based on the Philip K. Dick story. This is my second pilot this week based on a movie originally after "Limitless". I loved the original Spielberg film. Now this movie does not have quite the level of FX of that now-thirteen year old movie, but that's to be expected of television vs. film, especially a Spielberg film.
Meagan Good is basically in the Tom Cruise role of the cop who hunts down crimes before they happen, and Stark Sands is one of the three "PreCogs", who helps her do so. The PreCogs in the TV version have more human personality since they have been sent free, and are living in the outside, everyday world. That little difference gives this show a much different feel from the movie, and THAT I'd say is what will potentially make this show work. Borderline thumbs-up so far...
